Import Duties and Fees
The customs valuation is based on CIF (Cost, Insurance and
Freight) which means that the amount used to assess customs
duty is the sum of cost of goods, insurance and shipping cost to
Egypt
Customs duties vary from 5% to 30% levied on CIF value
Sales tax vary from 10% to 25% based on CIF value
Intoxicating liquors will be subjected to a 3000% customs duty
on their CIF value while tobacco products are subject to 100%
of the CIF Value
If Customs Authorities conclude that the declared value in the
Commercial Invoice is devalued, a penalty of 10% - 100% may
be applied
Egypt applies different import duties tariffs based on HS Codes
and goods origins. Origins are divided into two categories: (1)
Member states of World Trade Organization (WTO), and (2)
Non-member states of World Trade Organization (WTO)
