2010 TIGER SHARK WINTER STATE TEAM This year’s winter state team was small but mighty! Twenty-three swimmers traveled to Gillette and swam in the championships March 5th through the 7th. The team consisted of mostly swimmers 12 and under, and a few high school swimmers fresh from their high school swimming and skiing seasons. Our Lander swimmers did very well with a few notable performances listed below:

TANK OF FUTURE CHAMPIONS – Learn to Swim

In March I had the privilege to work with our swimmers in Learn to Swim. I am excited about the progress they are making and, for the most part, how comfortable they are in exploring the water. You can help your swimmers build strength and confidence by taking them swimming to play. Swimmers love to show their parents, more than anyone else, what they can have learned and

what they can accomplish. Whether this is diving for rings, blowing bubbles, holding their breath, or demonstrating their favorite stroke, it is important for all our athletes to have multiple opportunities to practice what they learn outside of regularly scheduled lessons. Recreation swims are available on weekdays from 7:30 to 9:00 and on weekends, 2:00‐4:00 and 6:00‐8:00 pm. During Spring Break, there is a special Rec Swim every

weekday from 2:00 to 3:30. Pool closed April 8th.

Many of our Learn‐to‐Swimmers graduated this winter season to the White Group. Congratulation to all our LTS graduates!

SSSTTTAAARRRRRREEETTTTTT JJJUUUNNNIIIOOORRR HHHIIIGGGHHH BBBOOOYYYSSS SSSWWWIIIMMMMMMIIINNNGGG Come support our junior high boys as they swim to success during this spring season! There is one more home meets in May and volunteers are needed to be timers. Please remember this is a fundraiser for our club and helps offset costs and keeps dues low. Led by veteran swimmers Drew Gramlich and Daniel Bolding, this team has both experienced and brand new swimmers and divers, making a new but tough team. They should be very fun to watch!
