Scholarships for Summer Camp Now Available for Children of Single ParentsThe Roger W. Smith Memorial Trust Fund, which has provided for education, summer camp fees, and other special projects, was established as a gift to Calvary Church. Roger and his wife were directors on Wednesday nights for single parent programs before his illness in 1999. Roger expressed his desire to help single parent families with financial needs they experienced trying to raise a family alone. For more information on how single parent families can be blessed through this

fund for camp this summer, contact Lynnell Bok ([email protected]) at ext. 3510.

Experiencing a Crisis? If you are experiencing a crisis, or perhaps going through a difficult emotional, spiritual, or relationship situation, Stephen Ministry & Lay Counseling can help. Contact Phyllis Dykstra at 784-1858.

5with Chris DeHaanAdministrative Assistant,Missions & Outreach

1 What is your role at Calvary Church?I have been the Administrative Assistant

in the Missions & Outreach office for the past two and a half years; before that I worked in the Children’s Ministry. As the “AA” I provide administrative support for those in the depart-ment: Celeste McDonough, Pastor Bruce, and Sharon Kaiser.

2 What encourages you most as you minister at Calvary?

First of all, I have to give a shout out to the rest of the “AA’s” who are an amazing group of women - very supportive, helpful, and encouraging. There is some real spiritual maturity in this group, and we know we can call on each other to pray through any situation.

My responsibilities in the Missions department include keeping up with our 51 missionaries located throughout the world. Witnessing their faith through some very difficult circumstances on the field, and their one aim of proclaiming Christ and seeing lives transformed is humbling to me, and challenges me to be bolder in my witness right here in West Michigan.

3 How has God recently revealed Himself in your life?

My husband, Kirk, has been under-employed since this past October, and our small group has come around us and offered their love and support through prayer and words of encouragement. During the holidays, we were

overwhelmed when they surprised us with a tangible expression of their love. Being in a small group has given us more friendships and more familiar faces on Sunday mornings within this very large body.

4 How have you experienced life{together}?

In our employment situation, God reveals Himself daily through His provision for our family. What is so exciting for us as parents is that our (five) kids are experiencing God’s faithfulness to us through every provision they see. Also, it seems that every week Pastor Jim’s sermons have aligned with what I am learning in a Bible Study I am involved in, and books I’ve been reading. God has been teaching me to put one foot in front of the other in trust, obediently following Him.

5 How can the Calvary family pray for you and your ministry this month?

With our Missions Conference this month (see page 10), our department would appreciate prayer for all the details to come together smoothly, that our missionaries who will be here would feel connected and loved, and that those who God wants to be here would not ignore His prompting to come.

On the personal side, that God would make it clear what His direction is for us in terms of employment for my husband.

found in the calvary library

All the books mentioned are available in Calvary's Library. The Library is located across from Fellowship Hall on the lower level. Hours are Sunday, 9:15 – 11:15am; Wednesday, 9:15 – 9:45 am and 6:00 – 7:30pm.

After Paul Stutzman lost his wife to breast cancer, he sensed a tug on his heart and the call to pursue a dream. With a mixture of dread and determination, Paul left his job, traveled to Georgia, and took his first steps on the Appalachian Trail. In Hiking Through, you’ll join Paul on his remarkable 2,176 mile trip through fourteen states in search of peace and a renewed sense of purpose. Along the way, you’ll meet fascinating and funny people,

experience “trail magic,” and discover that every choice has consequences for the journey. What he learned about God during the next four and a half months changed his life – and can change yours as well.

For fashion journalist Lauren (“LoLo”) Scruggs, a short flight to look at Christmas lights turned into a nightmare when she was struck by the plane’s spinning propeller. As Lauren was rushed to the hospital, fighting for her life, the world watched with shock and horror. Several major surgeries and thousands of prayers later, Lauren was still alive. But she had suffered brain trauma and had lost her left hand and left eye. Some thought that this

would be the end of everything for her, a beautiful young woman working in an industry focused completely on appearance – but they were wrong. In Still LoLo, Lauren reveals what really happened that night, how she survived against all odds, and what her life of hope is like today.

“Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy” is the only commandment that begins with the word remember — almost as if God knew we would forget. Well, guess what? We did. The ever-improving technology of smart phones, the Internet, Facebook, Twitter and Skype help us stay connected with coworkers, family and friends -- but what about God? In 24/6, Dr. Matthew Sleeth provides a life-giving prescription for a healthier,

more God-centered life amidst a digitally crazed, always-on-world and helps us better understand how our lives can be radically transformed – physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually – by adopting a 24/6 lifestyle.

This month, as we look forward to our Missions Conference April 20-22, we’re getting some recommended reads from Calvary’s MIssions & Outreach department. If you are interested in learning more about how to care for missionaries, the role of North America in global missions and other topics, these books are available in Calvary’s library. Pick one up today.

Serving as Senders is the classic missionary care book, helping churches, families and friends become true partners in the work of missionaries preparing for, ministering on, or returning from the field. This updated 20th anniversary edition adds a lot of valuable suggestions for navigating missions in our inter-connected, global world.

In Western Christians in Global Mission: What’s the Role of the North

American Church, Paul Borthwick, a recent speaker at one of Calvary’s mission conferences, asks the “elephant in the room” question: Is there an ongoing role for the North American Church in global mission? In his answer, he provides concrete advice to help us avoid creating dependency or appearing paternalistic to national believers.

How do missionaries help those who have never heard of Jesus Christ make the connection between God’s Word and the life they know? The Messenger, the Message, and the Community: Three Critical Issues for the Cross-Cultural Church Planter is already a classic among workers on the field! It looks at what it takes to be accepted as a messenger with something of value to say, with an in-depth exploration of shame-based cultures and the importance of building a sense of community into a new group of believers.

Also, be sure to check out Who is My Neighbor: Being a Good Samaritan in a Connected World, by Steve Moore — our guest speaker on April 21. Read more about Steve on page 12.

Community:There When You Need It

MostBy Kathy & Terry Hicks

“In such a huge place like Calvary, it’s easy to get lost in the

crowd, to feel like no one cares when you are going through a really rough time. Our small group has been an immense

encouragement to us in recent months and we are grateful

beyond words to the Lord for the love he shows through them.”

Calvary has emphasized the benefits of being a part of a small group for quite a while now. Terry and I joined a group of four couples a little over a year ago, realizing it was something we needed, but we were a little reluctant. It felt kind of like taking your medicine – you know it’s good for you, but it can be uncomfortable, especially at first. We met twice a month (usually). We studied the Word, prayed together, ate a little, laughed and talked a lot. God started building a bond that would become a lifeline.

Our little group has been through the wringer in the past year. Not one of us has been untouched by tremendous challenges – aging parents with major health issues and difficult quality of life decisions, job losses and prolonged financial difficulties, older children making questionable choices – the list is long! Our regular meetings became sporadic and our Bible study less focused, but we still met together when we could. We kept texting, calling and emailing each other – just to remind each other that we care, we are praying, God is still good, even when life is hard.

One example of this caring spirit still brings tears to our eyes. Terry’s dad, Warren, had been extremely ill for several months due to complications from open heart surgery. Our small group was a constant source of encouragement and comfort during this exhausting time. Terry’s dad passed away in November and we made the two-hour trip back to Jackson to prepare for the funeral. During the evening visitation at the funeral home, two members of our group, Sam and Carla, walked through the door. We were stunned. They had never met Warren, but made that long drive to support us.

Everyone goes through seasons in life where each day is like an endurance contest – it’s all you can do to put one foot in front of the other and hang on desperately, sometimes feebly, to the promises of God. In such a huge place like Calvary, it’s easy to get lost in the crowd, to feel like no one cares when you are going through a really rough time. Our small group has been an immense encouragement to us in recent months and we are grateful beyond words to the Lord for the love he shows through them.

We have found that one of the marks of healthy

groups is committed leadership.  Will you

consider leading one of our Summer Community

Groups beginning in May and meeting throughout

the summer?  The leader must be a member of

Calvary or be willing to become a member.  We en-

courage all of our new Community Groups to study

the sermon discussion questions that go along

with the Sunday service,  and he/she would  facili-

tate the discussion.  If you have an interest in learning more about

this opportunity, please contact Brenda Neher at

[email protected] or at ext. 5650.Lead

These groups gather in homes for the purpose of growing spiritually and relationally. You will be asked to commit to meet at least 8 times (most groups meet every other week).

You will study God’s word together. You will fellowship together, care for one another and grow in the Lord together.

If you are unable to join us on April 28, you can still be part of a group. Just fill out a registration form by April 22 to be placed in a new group.

Living Victoriously in Spiritual WarfareA conference for anyone interested in learning more about spiritual warfare, connecting deeply with God and working through life’s problems.

Friday, April 12 -Sunday, April 14Room 108 | Cost: $10(Scholarships are available, please request at registration.)

This three-day conference will be filled with teaching, Q & A sessions and workshops led by JP Gaylord, Calvary’s Special Projects Coordinator. Our goal is to help people recognize spiritual warfare in their lives and engage with it effectively. We will meet Friday evening, all day Saturday (approximately 9:30am-4:30pm) and Sunday afternoon. Cost includes lunch on Saturday and conference materials. Register today at MyCalvaryGR.org or contact Ruth Gudbrandson ([email protected]) at ext. 5013.

Each Wednesday evening over 25 art enthusiasts gather for a very special time. As you walk into the room, you catch the excitement and many times there is standing room only for this time of learning and praising God through art expressions. The special needs art class is led by Pamela Cook, assisted by Cathy Ezinga, Cheryl Johnson, and other faithful volunteers. We experi-ment with a variety of mediums from watercolors and pastel chalks to molding with plastics.

This month our spiritual inspiration comes from the theme of sacrifice that the Go Getters are focusing on in the Worship on Wednesday program. Christ’s sac-rifice for us is supreme, but we must also be willing

to sacrifice what we are for what God intends for us to become.

Our latest project expresses that truth…it starts with a plain circle of plastic, and drawing from their creative gifts, the students’ added color and design with per-manent markers. The artwork was then exposed to a low heat, where the change happens. Just as when we place our lives into the hands of our Creator, the plastic is transformed into a thing of beauty that we cannot predict or imagine.

The Go Getters are learning how God has imparted them with unique gifts of cre-ativity, and that He is delighted when their artistic gifts are being expressed. No one’s project looks the same... exactly as God intended. Grouped together under the lights, their shining attributes are magnified. It is a wonderful thing to be a part of God’s workings here at Calvary Church.

We invite you to stop by room 114 to view our “Dale Chihuly” inspired artwork cur-rently being displayed. The Special Needs art class meets Wednesday evenings from 5:45pm to 6:30pm in room 114. All are welcome.

Growing in Remarriage is a caring congregation of remarried couples (death or divorce) building Christ-centered relationships through in-depth Bible study, prayer, friendship and outreach. We also enjoy Friday night gatherings, potlucks, and retreats. We are more than a class which meets to

study a subject by lecture. We seek to fulfill the exhortation of Galatians 6:2, “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Remarried couples are welcome to join us in Room 123-127 at 9:40am.

more than a voiceBy Debbie Mills

April 2013 | calvarygr.org | 9

Growing up sitting at my Mother’s knee,I heard stories of Jesus’ love. And when I came to understand,I confessed to God above.

I asked Him to forgive my sinsAnd wash me white and clean. Now I dream of Heaven andThings there I’ve never seen!

But then I noticed all aroundThere were ears that couldn’t hear. How would they know the Way, the Truth? It caused my heart to fear.

Yes, preachers must go to the entire worldGod’s plan of redemption to showBut that’s not enough; we need more than a voiceTo ensure that all deaf people know.

For words are missed in their silent worldHow can they know of God’s precious Son?The answer is found in humble handsThat will tell how their souls can be won!

Our hands well trained will use pictures to teachThe gospel so simple and freeOf a baby’s birth, a life lived without sinAnd a horrible death on a tree.

“It is finished” was not a cry of defeatDeath could not hold Him; He had won!A day of mourning became full of joyAt the victory of Jesus, God’s Son.

So, I cannot be content to ignoreSo many who cannot hearOf Jesus’ love and saving graceHow He wants to draw them near.

God made the deaf and without a doubtHe wants them in Heaven too!So, please pray seeking His willFor what He would lead you to do!

Debbie Mills is new to Calvary Church and is passionate about sharing the Gospel message with those who are deaf or hard of hearing. Debbie is grateful that God gifted her with the ability to learn ASL (American Sign Language) quickly and is now using that gift to share her faith with others who need more than a voice to hear.

If you or someone you know is interested in learning American Sign Language (ASL), the Special Needs Ministry will be offering introductory and beginner classes here at Calvary Church.  The intro classes will expose you to the deaf culture along with learning some basic ASL.  Please contact Judi Warner for more information or to sign up for an introductory class which will be held this spring.  Beginning ASL classes will begin in September and will be taught by Debbie Mills (author of the poem). awakento god’s glory | to the world’s need

Our Missions Conference this year calls us to Awaken to what God is doing in response to widespread social issues and spiritual poverty; to find encouragement in His hand of control; and to be exposed to opportunities of greater vision and direction in our local community and in the world.

On Saturday, we are excited to host a full-day conference not only for our own congregation, but for people from all around West Michigan who desire to see Christ’s name proclaimed around the world. Details about this one-day event are on page 11.

On Sunday we will celebrate what God has been doing in and through Calvary Church

along with opportunities to get involved and to see yourself in God’s mission to reach the world. For more details on Sunday activities, see pages 12-13.

We will also be happy to greet several of our missionaries who will be in town for this weekend! Look below for your best chances to catch up with them.

Missions Conference: Saturday April 20 - Monday, April 22

West Michigan Missions ForumSaturday, April 20, 2013From its earliest days, God has given Calvary Church a passionate heart to reach the lost and serve the needy – around the world and in our own community. The centerpiece of this year’s missions conference Awaken is celebrating that passion and sharing it with other churches. In partnership with 20 other churches and mission agencies, we have planned a memorable day of learning, exploring, and awakening to Christ’s amazing Kingdom purposes. Along with two inspiring key-note sessions with Steve Moore (bio at right), there will be three sessions of practical hands-on workshops from which to choose.

Registration:

Calvary attendees have two options: • $10 for the full day, including lunch • FREE for any part of the day (not including lunch)

You are welcome to choose a workshop or two that interest you, or stay for the full day. Either way, let us know you plan to join us by contacting Chris DeHaan ([email protected]) at Ext. 5022 by Friday, April 12. Please register if you plan to come!

Missions 101, 201, and 301: In-terested in helping to lead the global and local missions movement? Want to have a hand in framing the impact of our going, sending, praying, giving, and serving? Attend this series to hear some of the best practices in other churches when it comes to setting goals, providing leadership, choosing partners, and getting excited about outreach. Then, talk to Celeste McDonough about where God might want to use you!

Leading Through Missional Change: To continue the analogy, this is the “graduate level” on helping take our church to a whole new level in our outreach.

Reaching the Least Reached Globally and Locally: How can our church be more effective reaching those who have never heard – right here in West Michigan? Did you know that members of at least 25 unreached people groups live in Kent County? What is our response?

Short-Term Missions: Most Calvary people know how much God has blessed us – and the world – through our short-term mission program. This workshop will prepare you to help us do even better as we prayerfully seek the direction God has for us.

Current Trends and Issues in Missions: How does the explosion of technology around the world impact Gospel witness? How are churches being recognized as necessary and valuable partners in the mission en-deavor? What does it mean that –in many mission fields today – over 40% of the population is under age 15? We live in a different economic climate than our parents – how does that impact missions funding? Our own Pastor Bruce will lead this discussion of “cutting edge” topics in missions.

First Steps/Next Steps to the Mission Field: Thinking God might be calling you to the mission field? Or just curious if you’ve “got it in you”? Come and find out!

Missionary Care: Missionaries are people just like you, often facing problems just like yours: caring for elderly relatives, responding to children’s educational needs, working hard – but not always succeeding – for harmony in marriage. How can we care for and love our missionaries?

Ministry in a World of Injustice/in a World of Poverty: Two timely workshops that will explore the Church’s role in confronting the chal-lenging and heart-breaking needs of our time. If you have a heart for com-passion ministry, these workshops are for you.

Becoming a Missional Family: Is your vision for what God is doing around the world contagious? Have your children caught it? Come get encouragement and resources to help build your kids’ understanding that the world is bigger than their neighborhood, their school and their church.

guest speaker: Steve mooreSaturday & Sunday, April 20-21

Our Saturday keynote speaker and Sunday guest preacher is Steve Moore, president of Missio Nexus, an organization dedicated to empowering the Great Com-mission community of North America. Steve lives to see God’s people discover their individual passion and fulfill

the specific call God has given them. His most recent book, Who is My Neighbor? (Navpress, 2011), explores the parable of the Good Samaritan in a new light, observing that the religious expert in the story was really asking, “When does God expect me to take responsibility for the needs of others?” Moore goes on to frame that question in 21st century terms:

Now that you have access to the needs of the whole world in the palm of your hand by way of a netbook, iPad, or mobile phone, who really is your neighbor? How exactly has living in a Google-powered world complicated the answer to such a simple question? How do we assign a meaningful page rank to the virtual tsunami of human needs that flood into our lives from every corner of the world? How do we keep from being swept away in the tidal wave of shame and guilt that results from paralyzing inaction? How do I know when God expects me to be a neighbor to the wounded and hurting people on the side of the road in this global village?. . . What happens when the needs of others are not only tragic but also chronic and epidemic? (From Who Is My Neighbor? To order copies of this resource, see www.navpress.com.)

Join us for the challenge – and the refreshing Gospel-oriented answers – that Steve has prepared to walk us through!

Awaken to God’s Call Sunday Morning, April 21• Steve Moore will join us in our morning services to inspire

us to live lives focused on seizing the kingdom opportuni-ties God has given us to be a blessing to the nations.

• Be sure to stop in the Calvary Café in the gym! Local com-munity ministry partners will have displays

with opportunities for ev-eryone to get involved

in blessing our neighbors.

Awaken to What God Is Doing in Grand RapidsSunday Evening, April 21 | 6:00pmExtreme poverty…orphans…human trafficking. Worldwide issues? Yes. Local issues? Yes! The Sunday eve-ning service will focus on urban ministry right here in Grand Rapids. God has gifted each one of us, and everyone has a part to play in showing God’s love to our neighbors.

During the service, we will take time to celebrate the work God is doing in our community through Calvary volunteers. Join us in the Fellowship Hall after the service for ice cream treats and more celebration!

“I got to know UFM on the 5th and 6th grade mission trip. I have now been helping for two years with directing the youth choir and watching two and three-year olds. I just fell in love with the kids.”

— Alden Wagaman

GueST SPeakeR:

Alf Clark, Executive Director of Urban Family Ministry

Alfonso “Alf” Clark has been ministering in diverse set-tings in Michigan for 13 years. He is enthusiastic about

ministering to families, teaching the Word of God, and loving kids.

He says, “I know Urban Family Ministry (UFM) does not exist to replace churches, but instead assist churches in ministering to the whole family. What excites me about UFM is coming alongside staff, volunteers, families, churches and other ministries to maximize the impact of the life-changing message of Jesus Christ in our neighbor-hoods.”

Percy Hammons, Deangelo Person, and Steve Dueck were gang-members, drug-dealers, and hustlers before Jesus saved them from their sins. Currently, they are residents at the “Man-Up House,” a disciple-ship and leadership development program of Urban Transformation Ministries and they receive mentor-ing from several godly men as they attend New City Church.

What is it like to serve locally?

“The kids have stolen our hearts and not given them back! We have gotten to know families and enjoy having them over. Many kids do struggle when they reach 14 or so, but those who stay with the faith are a joy to see.”

— Anne & Carl Cetas

“It’s like I have 150 kids of my own. Saturday night is the highlight of my week. It’s especially encouraging to see the students who are staying in school and staying faithful to the Lord.”

— Michelle Cummins

“It is important to me that my kids and I learn to serve, interact, and love those who look and live differently than we do. I love their heart for God, for the inner city, and for each other. I don’t know how anyone could get involved and not become excited by what God is doing!”

a note from the elders

Respectfully Submitted by Kent Snoeyink, Elder Clerk

Pastor Samra’s Study BreakPlease join us in praying for our pastor while he is on his annual study break. Each year Jim Samra spends five weeks away from Calvary Church. He goes with our blessing, because on a typical study break Jim reads dozens of books, meditates on lengthy sections of the Bible, prays for hours, memorizes scripture, writes theological papers on challenging topics such as spiritual warfare or interpreting scripture, and prayerfully maps out the weekly sermon schedule for the coming year. When he returns he is revitalized and excited to share what he has learned. Jim provides the elders with a detailed account of what he has studied and how the Lord has been speaking to him, then we spend time considering that and praying about it together. So we are thrilled to grant Jim this time to seek God’s will for our church! Jim and Lisa and their four children plan to enjoy one week of vacation together and Jim will spend the other four weeks in intensive study and prayer. Pray that the Samras will experience refreshing, uninterrupted family time while on vacation. Pray for Jim’s spiritual protection and for wisdom and distraction-free time while he studies. Please ask the Lord to speak clearly and to map out next fall’s sermon schedule according to His will and purpose.

Doctrinal StatementFor the past four years the elders and a committee have been reviewing Calvary’s doctrinal statement to make sure it clearly defines what we believe. Drafts have been revised several times. Pilot classes have been taught, leading to further revisions. Our goal is to strengthen our statement. Our existing statement doesn’t adequately address some common theological questions. The current draft form includes two sections, a doctrinal statement called “What We Believe” and a 32-page explanation called “What We Teach.” We hope this combination will clarify, strengthen, and help us teach our beliefs. The doctrinal statement requires approval by a congregational vote before any revisions are officially adopted. The congregation will have time to read, ask questions and give input about it long before the final draft comes up for a vote. In the meantime, please pray for wisdom as we seek to clearly articulate the foundations of our faith.

Nominations for Elder and DeaconAt our March 12 meeting, the Nominating Committee prayerfully submitted the names of those they recommended for consideration as potential elder and deacon nominees for the coming year. Now we are praying through the list and asking God to highlight the people He has chosen for these roles. We would appreciate your prayers as well. The next step will be to ask those whose names were submitted to pray about whether or not God is calling them to serve in this way.

Central Asia TripThis past February, elder Noe Palacios, Pastor Bruce and a team of six from Calvary Church visited our partners in Central Asia to participate in a leadership conference for national workers. More than 360 attended the meeting and 200 were Central Asia passport holders. The team was encouraged to hear these national pastors share how people are coming to Christ and churches are growing in spite of persecution.  One of the greatest blessings was to see the nationals take more leadership responsibilities. Calvary has been involved in this region of the world since 1992 and remains firmly committed to helping this unreached area of the world learn the truth of the gospel of Christ.

We are grateful to those in our church family who become personally involved in missions. If you would like to learn more about participating on a short-term mission trip, please contact Celeste McDonough, our Pastoral Staff representative for Missions at [email protected].

KIDS N ACTIONWednesdays | 6:30-7:50pm Our desire in KIDS N ACTION is that children, five-years-old through fourth grade, understand what God says in the Bible, believe it, and obey it in their daily lives. KIDS N ACTION is designed to foster social interaction through chosen electives, while facilitating spiritual growth in learning from the book of James how to “put your faith into action.”

James Gang Picture ReminderRemember that on May 8, at 7:50pm, in the Fellowship Hall, we will be taking our group photo of all children who have participated in the “James Gang.” This photo will be on a “Wanted” poster, and will stay in our Elementary hallway for years to come – and each child in it will receive a personalized certificate. Ice cream treats will also be available for everyone! It’s not too late to join! To be in the picture, you must: memorize James chapter 4 and complete 5 serving opportunities. Available to children of all ages! Projects should be reported using the form available from the Children’s department or online at JamesGang.calvarygr.org. Completing serving projects is as simple as helping children interpret things they do for other people (shovel snow, share a lunch, donate books, etc.) as “putting faith into action” as the book of James describes. Memorization is on the honor system. Parents, if you say your child has memorized to your satisfaction, ‘nuff said! Questions? Contact Joel Shank ([email protected]) at ext. 5067.

LUMIN8 Spring ConcertMark your calendars for Sunday, May 19, at 6:00pm in the Sanctuary and plan to attend our children’s choir, LUMIN8 Spring Concert which will include Child Dedication song, a performance of the James chapter 4 memorization. Don’t miss it, and invite some friends to join you!

There’s so much going on at Calvary, we can’t fit it all on this calendar! We’ve only listed a few events for each day so be sure to refer to the web calendar at calvarygr.org or the back of the Sunday bulletin for all our recurring weekly activities.

SpringSEvERE WEATHER AWARENESS WEEK

The week of April 17 has been designated as our spring severe weather awareness week.

In the case of severe weather, event closings will be announced on Calvary’s website, WCSG (91.3), TV8 and TV13. If a weather watch develops during an event, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) will monitor the situation. If a weather warning occurs during an event, a public address notification will signal all to seek shelter in designated rooms on the lower level.

We are so glad you have joined us today. We know there are many churches you could have chosen to attend and we are glad you chose to be here. We believe that you are not here by accident, that God has brought you to this place for a specific purpose. We look for-ward to connecting with you and caring for you in any way that we can.

This is a big church, we know... but you’d be surprised at how quickly you can find your place. All over this page are ways to meet people and get involved at Calvary. You will find there really is something for everyone!

Community is a place where you belong; a place where you develop relationships with other Christians and

do life together. When you experience true community, you have close friends who meet together, pray together, grow together in God’s Word, and care for one another. In community you will be loved; you will be valued; you will be transformed more into Christ’s image. If you realize it is time to engage with people in a new way and want to be a part of a community group, visit the Connection Point on Sunday mornings or contact Brenda Neher ([email protected]).
