The Keys to Caregiving Conference. The Rowan County senior services of Lutheran Services Carolinas invite you to the Keys to Caregiving Conference. This free event includes a question and answer time with a panel of experts on senior issues and a presentation by guest speaker Melanie Bunn. Family and professional caregivers will leave feeling more confident and capable in caring for loved ones. The conference is Tuesday, April 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Trinity Oaks, 728 Klumac Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144. Lunch is provided. Ian and his sister, Melissa, and their mother, Lisa Shue, were all baptized and raised at Concordia. Comeleta Overcash is the proud grandmother of the children being received in baptism.

Jesse’s Ride and Run for PTSD Saturday, May 6, 2017

Come join us to help raise money for those suffering from PTSD. Registration begins at 8 am for the Ride and Run at Faith American Legion Park. All proceeds go to Honor One, whose Heal One’s Mission is: creating financial help for veterans, firefighters, and police officers suffering from PTSD.

Opening Ceremony- 12 noon We'll kick off the event by celebrating everyone who's been affected by cancer. Whether someone's been diagnosed for 10 days or been cancer-free for 10 years, they gather together for the crowd to cheer them on

Survivors Lap- 6 pm Care Givers Lap- 9 pm Luminary Ceremony- 9 pm You may also remember loved ones lost to cancer and honor those in treatments by dedicating luminary bags. Each bag is personalized with a name and/or message and are illuminated after dark at the Relay for Life Event on May 6th at the Rowan County Fairgrounds. Each luminary is $10.00. Please complete a luminary envelope and place it in the offering plate. Make your check payable to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Envelopes are available at the back of the Fellowship Hall on the Relay for Life Table Display.

Sunday, May 7th- K thru 12th grade Youth Activities Bring bag lunch to eat after 11:00 Worship service. 12:30 – 1:00 pm- Music time with Leslie and Sarah 1:00 pm- Church bus trip to Central UMC, Concord, NC to see the Mega Heart exhibit. This is a guided tour walking through a giant heart. Visitors can step inside the heart to learn how it functions, see various cardiovascular diseases, and raise awareness of keeping your heart healthy. There is also a health fair with multiple outdoor exhibits. Expected return to Concordia between 4:00 and 4:30 pm. Families are invited. Event is free.
