National Volunteer Week (April 12-18) is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities, said Valley County 4-H Agent Roubie Younkin. Its about demonstrating that by working together, communities have the ability to meet challenges and accomplish goals. The Points of Light Foundation sponsors National Volunteer Week, and the 2015 theme, Celebrate Service, aligns with the focus of Montana 4-H Volunteers who are engaged in taking action and encouraging 4-H members to provide service to others and their community. National Volunteer Week encourages people to be engaged in their community. 4-H volunteers are actively engaged in their communities by impacting the lives of Valley County youth, sharing time and talents with youth through 4-H clubs, Special Interest clubs, after-school programs and camps, Younkin said.

I wasnt going to write for awhile or about the latest NVCCA meeting, but some Glasgow BUZZ readers and a St. Marie gentleman said that I dont write clearly! I said that I at times use slang and I told the St. Marie gentleman that Mark Twain said if ya spell the words the same way all the time, you aint creative! But Ol Jake and Doc said Its them abbreviations. Me and other folks in Glasgow dont know what they stand for says Jaker. So Ill write them down and folks can pin um up on the wall to look at when they read my stuff. Here they are:1. SMCA- St. Marie Condo Association- 234 unit owners2. VPLT- Valley Park Liquidating Trust- Parks bankruptcy3. NVCCA- North Valley County Condo Association- 106 members4. SMDC- St. Marie Development Association- Pat Kelly5. GTMS- Glacier Trail Management Services- Marv Bethea6. EMS TRUST- Marv Bethea7. DTM LLC- Merrill and Diana Frantz8. NSM- New St. Marie- Mike Mitchell (from Missoula) These are all the entities currently suing and counter suing eachother in 11 open lawsuits filed. They pertain mainly to clearing up St. Marie property titles, contract disputes, judgments, and who knows what all else. Hell fire, the onlyest ones that are the most important to all St. Marie condo owners are the ones trying to get good clean legal titles for ALL owners. Then banks will readily loan on St. Marie condo units...supposedly. If and when all this mess is sorted out in Court leading to good, clean, insurable titles - it will be a good day for St. Marie. COMMENT and OPINION- After attending and listening to everything at the last NVCCA meeting, I retracted my offer to serve on the board. I wanted to insure honesty, ethics, and equity in all board actions. Bethea didnt want me on the Board anyhow, so it was by mutual agreement in the end. Someone once said that theres money to be made in Bankruptcy, well he aint gonna get away with it again! 25 years of various schemes is enough!!! ~ Nick Chiechi - the Due Diligence Fella

  • Arnold E Wingenbach, 61, Glasgow MT passed away peacefully with his family and friends by his side on March 28, 2015 at Riverstone Hospice in Billings MT. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 am CDT on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant and Deacon Bob Wingenbach assisting. Burial was at Mandan Union Cemetery. A Celebration of life will be held in Glasgow on Sunday, April 12th, 2015 at El Cor Del Lanes at 2pm. Arnie was born on October 16, 1953 to Edwin and Cordella (Gustin) Wingenbach in Bismarck ND. He was raised and educated in Mandan, graduating from Mandan High School. He married the love of his life Karen Hoffman on August 25, 1978 in Bismarck. They were married for 36 years and made great memories that will be cherished. They raised four strong, beautiful daughters while living in Glasgow. This ultimately led to him having four fantastic son in laws and ten wonderful grandchildren. Arnie worked with the BNSF railroad for 35 years as an Engineer. He will be remembered every time we hear that whistle blow. Arnie was a loving husband,

stories of how great they are. One thing he liked to say while raising his daughters is If you dont know what a word means, look it up! He had a great sense of humor and would tell his friends and family Im the fun one and dont hate me because Im pretty! Arnie had a passion to live life to its fullest. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved to camp at Fort Peck Lake. Arnie also liked to sing and dance to any good song. He enjoyed taking his lovely wife Karen for a ride on their Harley. While on the Harley he would speed and slide in, put the kickstand down and say, whooooo wheeee, what a ride. One thing he wanted to let everyone know, was that he loved to have a good time with all of you that knew him. This includes friends and family while growing up, to his neighbors that are thought of as his family. You have all made his short life of 61 years a special one. Arnie will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Karen, Glasgow MT, daughters Stephanie (Syed) Zaidi, Bismarck, Jennifer (Gabe) Staack, Syracuse NE, Lisa (Jason) Sides, Billings MT, Leann (James) Kruckenberg, Sultan WA; grandchildren Ethan, Kaleb, Kendal, Noah, Calli, Sophia, Kameron, Tyrus, Saif, and Kate; his mother Cordella Wingenbach, Beulah ND,
