ST. MONICA PRAYED AND WEPT WITH HOPE FOR
THE CONVERSION OF HER HUSBAND AND SON FOR 30 YEARS!
St. Monica Parish was founded in 2013 by Bishop David
Zubik. The clergy and people of four parishes, representing
eight previous parishes, bravely accepted the call of the
Bishop to cooperate as people of faith in the power of the
Holy Spirit to Build a Church that is Alive! Christ has
asked this parish to be born so that the Faith may continue
to be proclaimed and lived in the upper Beaver Valley. The
Holy Eucharist has been praised and adored in this area
since 1854. St. Monica Parish with the assistance of our
Patroness, and her son St. Augustine, will continue to
spread the Catholic faith and to be the light of Christ to all
that we meet.

The Traditional Easter Greeting:
Christ is risen! Truly, He is risen!
Latin - Christus resurrexit! Resurrexit vere!
Polish - Chrystus zmartwychwstał! Prawdziwie zmartwychwstał!
Italian - Cristo è risorto! È veramente risorto!
Hungarian - Krisztus feltámadt! Valóban feltámadt!
German - Christus ist auferstanden! Er ist wahrhaftig auferstanden!
Wherever Christ has called us from, this Easter we celebrate His
Resurrection as one family, redeemed and set free. In whatever way you have
been dying and suffering in Lent, and for the many more ways that you die and
suffer in daily life, let us Celebrate and Rejoice that Resurrection, New Life,
Forgiveness, and Peace are possible! This Easter let us each bury the old
man of sin and unforgiveness, so that Christ Jesus may Rise New in our
Hearts and Homes.
May the Blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you and your family this Easter Season!

Dear Fellow Parishioners, During the Easter season we begin to take up again what-ever it was that we gave up for Lent. It has been a sacrifice and it’s always so amazing to realize what strengths that we have and were willing to exercise over Lent. We return to school tomorrow and I could not be prouder of all our students. They did a fantastic job with the “Living Stations.” I certainly hope that you were able to attend at least one of the “Living Stations” during Lent. Every performance got better than the one before. It was very impressive what these young students can accomplish. I thank all the stu-dents and teachers for their hard work for being able to pull off this amazing presentation. I extend a very special THANK YOU to Mrs. Annie Raybuck & Mrs. Sandy Wertz for their endless help with this years Stations and to the very talented organist who played for these presentations, Mrs. Marlene Holland. “It takes a village……….!” Market Day orders will be accepted until Thursday, April 16. There is always something for everyone and all the prod-ucts are of a high quality. Please never hesitate to stop in at the academy for an order form. We also thank everyone who patronized our Easter candy sale, the Easter flower sale and we thank everyone also for buying lottery tickets and patronizing the Paddle Party to benefit the National Academic Games. The Night at the Races will be held this Friday, April 10, at Founders Hall. We hope everyone has purchased all the tickets that you need or want. It always proves to be a really exhilarating fun event. Tickets with a horse are $25, with jockey are $50 and General Admission is $15. Pur-chase or reserve tickets by calling Teresa at 724-888-9828. Thank you everyone for your patronage. We are sponsoring a 5K on Saturday, May 30, in Darling-ton. Anyone interested can contact the academy for more information. We would like to congratulate Nick Steffine and Kaydon Job for winning the February “Random Acts of Kindness.” Both students were awarded a $25 gift certifi-cate that they redeemed at the spring Book Fair. Two stu-dents were drawn in March and each won a $25 gift card that can be used at any Cinemark Theater. We will publish their names next week. Spring is finally here and the walls of the school are deco-rated with so many different student projects. I love this time of year. It seems like when we turn the page from winter to spring, it brings with it a whole new positive atti-tude within all of us which is fitting since we are in the Easter season. We are preparing for Terra Nova testing on April 13-24 which is especially an important time for students to be rested and to be sure to have a good breakfast. Fortu-nately, we serve breakfast so all students will be well pre-pared. Father Naugle will celebrate Chapel Liturgy for students in grades 3, 4, & 5 on Friday, April 10th. Father was so ac-commodating with the challenging weather this past winter. Thank you Father Naugle for being here for us. Thank you for your continued support of your parish school and, God Bless Mr. Brad Diamond, Principal
