1. Gateway Rescue Mission provides meals to anyone in need and an overnight shelter for men
in Downtown Jackson. They recently open Ruth’s Refuge which is a shelter for women
Gateway has thrift stores in Pearl and Magee that supports the ministry and offer assistance tofamilies and individuals in need. Gateway will be converting a warehouse into a place to hold
worship services and community outreach activities. Service opportunities include serving
meals, general clean-up, construction and leading chapel services and are available everydayat the Jackson location and general clean-up and sorting and organizing at the Thrift Stores.
Pinelake serves dinner and helps with chapel the second Sunday evening of each month .

2. Center for Pregnancy Choices (CPC) has locations in north Jackson and in Pearl. CPC provides free services and programs to advise women and men to the alternatives to abortion.
CPC offers support for clients by providing medical tests, counseling, support groups and
maternity and baby clothes. Service opportunities include leading scrapbook classes,mentoring, Bible classes and general clean-up and are available Monday through Saturday at

3. Center for Violence Prevention (CVP) is a domestic violence shelter located in Pearl that
provides emergency shelter for violence victims. The Center also provides therapy,counseling services and case management to assist victims as they rebuild their lives. They
assist with job counseling, life skills and apartment location. They have a resale shop that is
used to support the ministry. Service opportunities include leading Bible study classes, lifeskill classes, construction and general clean-up and are available on Monday through

introducing people to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. They also are actively involved in therevitalization of the surrounding neighborhood. Service opportunities include health care

5. We Will Go Ministry reaches out to their community by providing meals, holding worship
services and by praying and loving on the people. David and Amy Lancaster and their
children are faithful in sharing the gospel and God’s love to the people of Jackson. Serviceopportunities include construction, putting together care packages, cooking and serving meals
are available on Saturday and Sunday. Pinelake prepares and serves dinner and helps with

6. South Side Baptist Church is leading Bible studies in apartments in their community. They
are ministering to the homeless in south Jackson by providing housing and meals. They have
a food pantry that feeds over one thousand families per year. They are spreading the Gospeland sharing God’s love with the people in their area. Service opportunities include assisting
with Sunday services, serving in homeless ministry, and assisting with youth activities and are
available throughout the week. Pinelake serves in the preschool ministry the fourth Sunday of

7. Perkins Center is dedicated to developing leaders through holistic Christian community
development and racial reconciliation. The training and equipping of the children and youth
in their neighborhood to become leaders driven by the love of God is one of their goals. ThePerkins Center has after school and summer programs as well as programs at local schools.
They also are actively involved in the revitalization of the surrounding neighborhood. Service
opportunities include tutoring, activity leaders, light construction and fine art activities andare available Monday through Saturday.

8. Neighborhood Christian Centers offers tutoring, Bible study, summer programs and much
more to the children in their inner city community. They are building relationships that allowfor opportunities to share the Gospel and to invest spiritually and practically in the lives in
their community. They are working in the neighborhood around their center to assist senior
adults with upkeep of their houses and yards. Service opportunities are available Mondaythrough Friday with work project on Saturday.
