RANGERS OF THE OLD DOMINION We are in the beginning stages of forming a program for boys ages 10-18 that will provide an alternative to the Boy Scouts of America. In an effort to build character and manly virtue, essential outdoor survival and camping skills will be taught that will help them to understand the value of individual responsibility and teamwork. There will be a priest spiritual director to ensure a sound religious component for this Catholic troop. Taking advantage of our prime location near so many important sites pertinent to our great Commonwealth and Country, the troop will also be immersed in the historical context. Thus the title, “The Rangers of the Old Dominion.” We will also give due attention to the historical sites of Catholicism in the region. We will be having an information night soon. In the meantime, if we have piqued your interest, please contact Fr. de Rosa at [email protected] or give a call to the office. LIGHT OF THE WORLD Light the World! is a Summer Institute that takes place at The Catholic University of America. Rising Juniors and Seniors are invited to join us either June 25-July 1 OR July 9-15 as we explore how our faith is lived within the fields and careers of Art, Science, Sport, Business, and Politics. Visit lighttheworldcua.org for more information and application materials. PATRICIANS Is Pope Francis really infallible? The Pope is frequently in the news and because of snippets of news, Twitter and Facebook the story gets distorted. This causes confusion and people are misled. Come to the next discussion of the Patricians to talk about “The Papacy”. Learn more about one of the most iconic figures in the world. We will gather on Thursday, May 11 at 7:00pm. Light refreshments will be served. You will walk away with something new at every Patricians. SECOND COLLECTION Next week’s second collection will benefit the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord."

But he said to them, "Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe."

Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you."

Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.”

Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”

John 20:24-29 Doubting Thomas byMichelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio

LIGHTING THE EASTER FIRE AT ST. ELIZABETH

On Holy Saturday morning, the youth of the parish met at the cemetery at St. Anthony to place a ribboned flower on each grave and a bouquet by the angel statue. They prayed a Chaplet of Divine Mercy for our parishioners there and all the souls in Purgatory.
