What they have pulled together is a family oriented view of the Vietnam experience. They will not show any violence but will give the viewer an overview of what the country looked like, the soldiers, the equipment, the terrain, the Vietnamese people, the Montagnard people (original settlers of Vietnam), the Viet Cong and their booby traps and the wildlife (animal, insect and reptilian) and of course the cuisine! They will also have some memorabilia on display. Fellow Vietnam Veterans that are present can add to the show by discussing their own experiences and at the conclusion of the presentation, the presenters and Bolivar Rubiano, Director of the City of Taunton’s Veteran Services, will answer questions. Monday, April 2, 2018 through Friday, April 30, 2018.!! !

The Senior Tax Work Off Program is a program allowing the City of Taunton the opportunity to u�lize the knowledge and skills of its

senior residents in exchange for credit toward the resident’s property tax bill. A qualified resident will be paid minimum wage with a

maximum credit of $750.00 per household during the fiscal year (subject to federal tax, Medicare, and O.B.R.A. deduc�ons).!!

Eligibility Requirements:!

1.Taunton residents who have reached age 60 years of age or over!

2.Must be able to produce a current real estate tax bill and ownership cannot be changed during program dura�on. If !

ownership has changed you may not be able to receive credit for hours already worked.!

3.Must be a homeowner in Taunton for a minimum of five (5) years.!

4.Must own and occupy the property for which you pay Taunton taxes and the rebate is requested.!

5.Must have difficulty mee�ng property tax payment and have limited financial resources.!!

the AARP Smart Driver Safety Program course. !

The course is designed to help drivers age 50-plus familiarize themselves with the current rules of the road, defensive driving

techniques, and how to operate vehicles more safely in an increasingly challenging driving environment. Learn proven strategies to

maintain your confidence behind the wheel. The program costs $15 for AARP members and $20 for non�AARP members. Please bring

your AARP card with you along with a valid drivers license. Having a Medicare AARP Part D plan does not count as being a member.

The check is to be made payable to AARP and is due on the first day of the course. There will be a 30 minute lunch break , so please let

us know when you register if you would like to eat at the congregate meal site served here on that day.!!

Howie Newman on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 1:00 pm.!!

Newman, a former sportswriter, covered the Red Sox for many

years and has remained an avid fan. He will sing baseball songs,

offer up baseball trivia and talk about his days on the Bosox

beat. Not all of the program will focus on baseball. Newman will

also play classic songs from yesteryear, including the music of

Frank Sinatra, Dean Mar�n and Elvis Presley, as well as show

tunes and standards.!!
