ALPAUGH BRANCH – APRIL 2015

• This month we celebrated Earth Day and kids did many awesome crafts.

• They started the month by doing Bird Feeders, painting rocks like lady bugs, planting a flower, and finally creating a Robot out of Recycled items.

• They named their Robot Wally and even wrote a short story about the functions of the Robot and its origins

DINUBA BRANCH – APRIL 2015

• April was another busy month for Dinuba Branch Library. We had a lot of new programming, along with our regular programming.

• Started the month with an Easter Egg Hunt in the library. The first 25 kids to sign up received a golden ticket to hunt approx. 466 candy filled eggs hidden throughout the library. Miss Teen Tulare County hosted the event.

For NLW, had a drawing for Adult, Teen and Child bag filled with books and candy if patrons checked out more then 3 books & submitted a word about why they loved the library. A permanent word collage poster was created for the library. More then 60 people participated.

• Had the first Special Needs Adult Story and Craft time. Was a wonderful event.

• . • Adult Book Club once again had an active and fun

Book Club meeting to discuss Us.• Finished the month with Legos in the Library.

EARLIMART BRANCH – APRIL 2015

• On April 3rd we had our branch Easter egg hunt.

• Celebrated earth month, learned the importance of recycling.

• Everyone from different age groups had fun doing out monthly crafts.

• Kids enjoy playing games and using the computer after school.

EXETER BRANCH– APRIL 2015

• Exeter had an awesome April.

• Since the month of April was national poetry month, we created a poet-tree for

the community of Exeter.

• We hosted a wonderful Easter Egg Hunt.

• During National Library Week, Ms. Dawn’s Roundup Preschool came to visit and learn

about libraries.

• The Friends of the Library-Exeter had a very successful raffle for baskets donated by Exeter businesses and fundraised over

$300.

• Early Start/Head Start came to visit at the library and enjoyed El Dia de Los Ninos/El Dia de Los Libros on April 30. We had a total of 36 people show for the event.

IVANHOE BRANCH – APRIL 2015

This month slowed down compared to last month because of spring break in March.

The crafts that we made this month werebird feeders, painted lady bug rocks, plantedflowers and recycled robots.

We also celebrated National LibraryWeek by reading extra books.

LINDSAY BRANCH – APRIL 2015

Busy Month at Lindsay;Easter Basket Cones, Bird Feeders, Earth day Planting, Robot Building, Painting Rocks, Class Visits with Story Time by Ms Kathy, Bird in Building, dead bird in building! Exciting Month!

OROSI BRANCH – APRIL 2015During the month of April we

saw many new faces in the library: visitors from out of town, as well as new arrivals to town.

More people are using the library for tutoring.

Kids are spreading the word that we have a drawing every week after crafts, so this is bringing in more and more school age kids from the community.

Many new library cards were issued this month.

SPRINGVILLE BRANCH – APRIL 2015

• National Library Week was celebrated this month with reading encouragement and the handing out of special bookmarks!

• Springville Library’s April children’s crafts were focused on Easter and “Earth Day” and included Easter chick and bunny baskets, bird feeders, ladybug painted rocks and flower cup planters.

• Springville adult patrons have taken advantage of the book club bags offered to reading groups through the Tulare County Library system.

STRATHMORE BRANCH – APRIL 2015

• National Library Week was celebrated this month with reading incentives and special bookmarks!

• Strathmore children enjoyed Easter and Earth Day crafts. We made: bunny and chick egg baskets filled with candy and prizes. We also made wood stick bird feeders, lady bug painted rocks and we planted flower seeds in decorated cups.

• On April 28th, Strathmore Branch Library held an “Open House” attended by County and Library officials. Over 60 adults and children attended . Recycled materials were made in to robots, children decorated stick butterflies and had their faces painted by Strathmore teens. Thanks to all who participated!

THREE RIVERS BRANCH – APRIL 2015

• Kay Crask, local violinist, read “The Philharmonic Gets Dressed” and played several musical pieces to the 1st & 2nd grade classes during their weekly library visit.

Filling the bird feeder Community Program: • “California Phenology: Nature’s

Calendar” - the effects of climate change on our local California Buckeye and the Blue Oak.

TIPTON BRANCH - APRIL 2015

• We started the month by celebrating Easter in the branch.

• This month was about celebrating Earth Day and recycling.

• Crafts this month included Easter basket, bird feeders, rock lady bugs, Earth Day planting, and a making Robot out of recycled materials.

• Kids loved creating the robot. They all pitched in decorating it and naming it Salma. At the end all kids who wanted the robot entered their name in a drawing and the lucky winner got to take her home with her.

WOODLAKE BRANCH – APRIL 2015

What's happening?Easter week, National Library Week and Earth Day all happening this April, which made for a very busy month for Woodlake patrons! Graphic novels continue to be very popular with our high school customers and even with a few adult readers.Students continue to gather after school for a quick game of “Magic” before heading home to do homework.Tutoring is winding down here in the Branch with the end of the school year approaching. Lots of colorful crafts this month:• Easter bunny baskets.• My favorite “Bird feeders” made

with popsicle sticks.• Ladybug rock painting• Earth Day Planters made with

popsicle sticks• Earth Day recycle Material Robots
