1. Let her tap her warm circle of friends and family first. It makes sense that her first customers would be those that she already knows. They already have an established rapport and she has a good idea of what their friends and families are looking for.

2. She should give a copy of The Look to her customers. People want printed material to take home and read at their leisure. So, advise your new Beauty Consultant to give them a copy of the The Look and, as an extra service, highlight some of our best-sellers. Her customers can even share the brochure with their friends and families to generate even more customers.

3. She should ask for a sale and book an appointment. Though the brochure speaks for itself, doing business the Mary Kay way means putting a personal touch into her selling. So, she should do a follow-up call and book an appointment to further discuss the customer’s personal skin care needs and close that sale.

4. She should be vigilant in doing follow-ups. By conscientiously following up after a sale and making sure that customers have the right beauty products to fit their needs, many successful Independent Beauty Consultants have found that they are able to provide the type of customer service that helps them build customers for life.

5. Teach her to turn deliveries into Quick, 30-minute Appointments. These appointments are all about building relationships. When she makes a delivery, advise your new team member to carry and distribute issues of The Look to potential and existing customers.

1. Be faithful in doing your Daily Activities. It’s important to keep doing personal selling as well as teambuilding and sharing of the Mary Kay opportunity. You can also develop teamwork among your unit members by joining them during their skincare class.

2. Hold Weekly Team Meetings. As a Sales Director, it’s important to coach and mentor team members. Weekly meetings are a venue for you to discuss various programs to help beauty consultants achieve their goals.

3. Monitor your team’s performance and communicate with them daily. Monitoring your team members’ performance will keep all of you on top of your goals and will give you the big picture of how far you have to go or what areas need improvement or more efforts. Daily communication is then key for you to give constant feedback and pointers.

4. Recognize team members with exemplary performance and motivate non-performers. Everyone loves to be recognized so keep praising your people to success! When they do a great job, reward them and acknowledge their efforts. On the other hand, those who are not doing so well need to be motivated. Keep them moving, keep them inspired and see them become performers once more.

1. How do you think the Success Journey program helped you in achieving your goals for your Mary Kay business?

The program motivated me to increase my unit production by encouraging my inactive members to raise their orders to P24,000 so they can enjoy the privilege of getting the Monthly Ordering Bonus Level 2 and experience the wonderful life with Mary Kay. Also this helped me increase my unit size by targeting 15 new members every month by sharing the opportunity.

2. How would you describe your experience on the first 2 months of your Success Journey?

The rewards are truly exciting! I can’t wait to receive the beautiful gifts especially the Skin Care Caddy! It was a fun and challenging experience.

3. What are your next steps/goals for your Mary Kay business?

I aim to increase my unit size from 50 to 500 by Philippine Seminar in August. I also want to achieve the Top Director’s Trip program and travel to Greece. Finally, I aim to become a Senior Sales Director with two offspring Directors by July.
