What a night! A sell-out crowd filled the Marriott

Hotel Ballroom in Romulus for an evening of

laughs, fun and excitement. This marks the sec-

ond year the Romulus Chamber of Commerce

has hosted a Comedy Night Dinner!

Auction fever gripped those in attendance and

lucky winners went home with some fabulous

gifts. The top item won was a Comerica Park

Suite Package for a Detroit Tigers 2014 regular

season game. This included 18 Tickets and 3

parking passes, donated by Robert Ficano,

Wayne County Executive.

One happy individual is enjoying their 40" LCD

Flat Screen TV - donated by the Romulus Cham-

ber. This is just a sampling of the many, many

great items won during the live auction. Other

attendees went home winners, courtesy of the

S i l e n t a n d C h i n e s e A u c t i o n s .

Following a delicious meal, Dennis Davidson,

Emcee, introduced the first of three comedy acts.

It was non-stop laughter! David Luther, the open-

ing act, is a local entertainer who works in major

comedy clubs throughout

the US and Canada.

Kate Brindle followed and

lived up to her billing as a

"smart, original and hilarious

comedian - a unique breath

of fresh

air on the

c o m e d y

scene."

The closing act brought the

house down with his funny and

bizarre tales of his life experi-ences.

appeared on A & E, Come-

dy Central and has been

the opening show for Ste-

ven Wright, Chicago and

Bill Maher. For 45 minutes

he "owned" Romulus!

Legal Tips Workshop

March Luncheon With John Clor, Ford Racing

John Clor, veteran journalist and member

of the Ford Racing Club, was the specialguest speaker at the Romulus Chambers

March Business Luncheon held at the Em-

bassy Suites, 8600 Wickham Rd., Romulus.

The March 18th event was a sell-out!

Members and friends of the Chamber en-joyed a delicious meal, followed by a most

interesting presentation on the history of

the Ford Mustang.

Time to dust of the clubs and tune-up for

another exciting season of golf!

The Romulus Chamber is now taking reser

vations for a free golf clinic on Thursday

May 15th at the Links at Gateway Gol

Course, 33290 Gateway Drive, Romulus.

Opened to Chamber Members, the clinic wi

feature a free lesson from a Links at Gate

way golf pro. A classroom event will also

be offered for golfers who would like famil

iarize themselves with rules and golfing

etiquette.

Lessons will be given in 15 minute increments, from 35:00 p.m. Reserve you

The Romulus Chamber Executive Direc-

tor Bill Kren presented John with a Cer-

tificate of Appreciation and a small gift,

following the luncheon.

The Chamber is working hard to bring

programs that are both interesting and

relevant to the business community.

The next luncheon will be April 15th at

the Sheraton Hotel, 8800 Merriman Rd.,

Romulus.

Some of the many benefits of Chamber

membership include the many practical

workshops provided at no cost to mem-

bers!

On March 26 the Romulus, Belleville,

Wayne and Westland Chambers of Com-

merce sponsored a practical workshop

dealing with employer/employee issues.

Attorney Sue Ellen Eisenburgs hour long

presentation covered important topics

like hiring and firing, complying with

federal and state guidelines and how to

take proactive measures to insulate a

business or organization from liabilities.

The event was graciously hosted by

Wayne County Community College,

Belleville.
