“I had the privilege of knowing Gaylon as a senior advisory member of Chapter 1205”, “He was one of the long standing founding members. He was a proponent of quality back in the days when the chapter met in peoples' houses and did not have the large following it does today. May he rest in peace and God bless his family.” - Donna Riggs

Gaylon was chair of the Rockford section in 1964/1965, He chaired the Metrology Lab Upgrade Committee at Rock Valley College from 1991 to 1996. – Section Historical Information

“Gaylon was one of the most enthusiastic and energetic supporters of the SPC movement in the late seventies and eighties. He had many "war stories" about his experiences and spent a lot of his time on the machine floor at Spengler teaching and conducting SPC studies. We talked about many of his experiences at ASQ meetings. ” “I attended Gaylon's funeral and was well received by his family and friends. The attendance at the funeral was rather high for someone in his late eighties but, then I would expect that for someone as popular as Gaylon was. His family and friends expressed much love for him as I would expect for someone who gave back to his community and always tried to do things right. We will miss Gaylon.” - Barry Beaman
