      Te National Weather Service in Glasgow,in conjunction with Valley County Disaster andEmergency Services, will be hosting a ree Skywarnweather spotter training course on Wednesday April 27,2016 rom 6:00-8:00 p.m. Te training will be held atthe Cottonwood Inn in Glasgow.  Te presentation covers basic thunderstormormation, what types o weather to report, how toidentiy various thunderstorm eatures, and how to staysae during hazardous summer weather.  Te public is invited to attend, along with students,local officials, and those who have to work outdoors inthe summer months.     Red Cross asks for blooddonations this spring   Te American Red Cross encourages eligible blooddonors to donate blood this spring to ensure a sufficient

    supply or patients at approximately 2,600 hospitalsacross the country.

    Donated blood is perishable and must constantly bereplenished to keep up with hospital patient need. Redblood cells are the blood component most requentlytransused by hospitals and must be used within 42 dayso donation.

    Eligible donors can give red blood cells througheither a regular whole blood donation or a double redcell donation, where available. During a double redcell donation, two units o red blood cells are collected

    while most o the plasma and platelets are returned tothe donor. Double red cell donors must meet additionaleligibility criteria, which will be determined at thedonation appointment.

    Debbie Cody-Nabors is a blood donor who givesdouble red cells. Her mother received transusions twicea week during treatment or aplastic anemia. “I donateblood as ofen as I can in memory o my mom,” she said“Please donate blood i you can to help save lives as younever know when you’ll be on the receiving end.”

    Donors with all blood types are needed, especiallythose with types O, A negative and B negative. Wholeblood can be donated every 56 days, up to six times ayear, and double red cells may be donated every 112days, up to three times per year.

    arm; she really makes the catcher’s glove pop. This past Saturday the Scotties

    split a pair of games, losing to Livingston 8-5 and rebounding to beat Colstrip 7-2 in

    what was their rst conference game of the season. They are now 3-3 overall. The

    Scotties hit the road to Havre on Thursday. On Friday they’ll be in Shelby to play

    the Coyotes and Conrad Cowgirls.. Then on Saturday they’re in Conrad. Their nex

    home appearance will be the Scotty Slam, featuring nine teams, April 29th & 30th.
