Happy Easter! Alleluia! Christ has risen!
I know today will be filled with family and food for many of us. Easter is a day
where families gather and moms dress up the kids and many pictures are tak-
en. Easter baskets are filled with goodies and kids will be busy hunting for
eggs. Beautiful tables will be set, and delicious food will be prepared. What a
wonderful way to spend this important day!
There is something else that will happen, that is especially significant and
needs exclaimed. What am I talking about? The church will be packed! Yes,
the pews will be crowded and the parking lot jammed. Some of you reading
this haven’t seen a bulletin since Christmas. Well let me tell you something…
WELCOME!! Welcome back, welcome home, welcome first timers. Welcome to
all. I hope those of us who attend Mass every week, will all turn and welcome
an unfamiliar face. No judgement, no sneers or glares. Just an open, friendly
and warm welcome today. Let’s replace the old thought, “Where are you all for
the rest of the year?” or, “You know, we meet every Sunday – you should
come back next week!” Instead, think to yourself, “Thank you, Lord, for bring-
ing all of your children home for this Easter Mass.” And then, after you think it,
do it. Show your gratitude with handshakes, hugs and smiles. Let’s make the
body of Christ – US – so full of hope and life that everyone wants to come
back again soon. BE Christ to everyone today. BE hope, BE faith, BE Easter.
Blessings to all on this day,
Melissa

From Msgr. Frank Chiodo
Dear Parishioners and Visitors, This is the Holiest season of the year. Together we come to the empty tomb to rejoice that our God has conquered for us the power of sin and death. Through the merits of His cross and resurrection the door to paradise is opened and those who approach the Risen Savior with confidence and with humility will walk with Jesus through death to eternal life in heaven. Not only at the end of our lives, but the Risen Savior offers you and me the grace to be empowered to deal with the chances and changes of life with serenity and strength. I greet all of our visitors and welcome you to our family here at St. Anthony. Know you are always welcome with us. Thanks to all who prepared for the Holy Week celebrations, especially our choirs under the leadership of Pat Civitate and Charlotte Hunkele. Thanks to our Masters of Ceremonies, especially. Pat Connolly and his team of servers. Thanks to Jeanne Knight and company for preparing the church for Easter. A huge thank you to Gary, Danny & Louis Randa for the Easter flowers. They were donated in memory of their parents, August and Helen Randa. They are beautiful. I am taking nomination for Pillars of the Parish. The requirements are listed bulletin. The deadline for submis-sion is May 1, 2017. The awards for the Pillars of the Parish will take place during our Corpus Christi celebration on June 18, 2017. Divine Mercy will be celebrated following the 11:30am Mass on Sunday April 23rd at the Grotto. Please join us. Fr.
