Transcript of April 11, 2010 Study Guide
• 8. Which of these leadership qualities would you desire to see developed in your life?
• What steps do you need to take?
• How can your group help you?
9. How will you give support and encouragement to your
church leaders in the coming week?
Notes:
April 11, 2010 – Pastor Andrew
Prayer Corner: The acid test of faith is how we live; it is not enough simply to call ourselves Christians. Consider again the leadership qualities in Titus and ask God to develop these qualities in your life and in our church leaders.
Prayer Tip: • God instructs us to pray for government and
church/ministry leaders. Introduce this practice into your Growth Group this week.

Growth Group Study Guide Week of _April 11, 2010_
Getting Started 1. Who would you consider to be a great leader and what made
them great? 2. How has someone in leadership influenced or impacted you? 3. Tell about someone you have observed fail in leadership.
What were some root causes for their failure? Into the Word 4. What mission did Titus have in Crete? Why do you think Paul
chose Titus? What qualities does Titus have? (Look at Titus 1 and 2 Corinthians 7:5-7; 8:16-24; 12:18)
5. From your reading of Titus 1, what were the problems being faced? Are any of these faced in churches today?
• How was Titus going to be used to address the problems?
6. Why is Titus given a list of leadership qualifications where
the emphasis is mostly on “being” and not on “doing”? • How do you account for the similarities between this list
and the one in 1 Timothy 3:2-7? • How do you account for the differences?
Application
7. Although applied specifically to leaders in Titus and Timothy, why are these qualities important for all Christians?
