Readings for April, 1 2018

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

! We are now in the Easter Season....a time to remember that God's love has overcome all hate and death in the world.....that the world gave our Lord the worst it could give. The cruelest treatment from the powerful Roman Empire....a friend who literally betrayed Him to torture with a kiss.....friends who fled when He was in trouble....all of it.

God stood there in love and took the blows out of love for us.

So, this Easter Season, let's remember that the love our God has for us is the love of a SURVIVOR....that Jesus has withstood the worst this world can give, and He still walks by our side in love.

Let that be a great comfort for us....kind of like how it is to know we have a friend in this life who sticks by our side through many ups and downs.....and who we know we can trust.

Let us trust in the Lord then....who won't leave our side this Easter Season....as long as we don't push Him away!

We will have the Divine Mercy Chaplet and prayers on Sunday, April 8th from 2pm-3pm....Chaplet actually begins at 3pm.

Finally, you can do a few things in small groups in the Spring. Please go to "Small Groups" on the top of the Homepage on the website for all of the information.

God Bless,

Fr. Andy

DO YOU ENJOY WORKING WITH YOUNG CHILDREN? We have an opportunity here at Holy Family. Once a week we have a one hour Making Music, Praying Twice activity. We are growing and in need of adding an additional class. The leader of this class would be

responsible for coming to class, singing with children between the ages of 1 and 3 years, playing with instruments and praying with the children and their caregivers. It is rewarding and great fun! Please contact Cyndi Zajic at [email protected] if you are interested.

CARING FOR CREATION MINISTREE: Did you know there are good bugs in your garden? Butterflies are great pollinators and certainly some of the most beautiful insects.

Plant native flowering plants in your garden and pots to attract them. Dragonflies eat a lot of mosquitoes. They do like damp places like a rain garden connected to a rain barrel. We all know Ladybugs are good because they eat aphids and white flies on our vegetable plants, especially tomatoes. Plus they are so darned cute. Native bees are also very important pollinators for all our flowers and vegetables. Using insecticides and insect foggers in our gardens can and will kill all these beneficial insects.

Visit the brand new outside Stations of the Cross at the rear of the Church.

See all the volunteer pictures on our website (www.holyfamilychurch.com) under Caring For Creation Ministry. Service and volunteer hours are always available. Email Chris Gordon, Master Watershed Steward, at [email protected].

We will begin Wednesday, April 4th from 10am-11:30am in classrooms 10 & 11. We will end May 16th the week before Pentecost when the Church celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit to all of us.
