PROBLEMATIC ISSUE
Intensive livestock production systems areconcentrated in certain regions, some withoutsufficient area for effluent valorization / spreading.
The sector, to be competitive and comply withlegal requirements, should promote a circulareconomy, looking for new alternatives for effluentmanagement.
Adding value to livestock effluents as a resource, focusing on production and integrated managementof different flows generated.
Optimize the use of effluents as secondary rawmaterials, recovering energy and nutrients, improving nutrient balance at the farm level andpromoting sustainable management.
GOALS
A guide for effluent management, includingtechnology portfolio, linked to farm characteristicsand regional constraints.
Support decision-making on centralized /decentralized solutions.
Contribute to the intensification of sustainablelivestock and landscape planning, addressing climatechange and scarce resources.
