What is eSocial?
SPED - The forerunner!
eSocial (Sped Payroll; EFD-Social, Social Sped, E-Social; Esocial)
Digital System Audit on Tax, Social Security and Labor Obligations
Bookkeeping.
eSocial is a project of the Federal Government that will collect the
information described in the eSocial object, storing them in the
“eSocial National Environment “, enabling project participants to
effectively use it for social security, tax and calculation of taxes
purposes and FGTS .
Goals of eSocial
“Article 6 – The use of eSocial aims:
I - enabling the guarantee of social security and labor rights;
II - simplifying fulfillment of obligations; and
III - enhance the quality of information of labor relations, social
security and tax. "

Deadlines for sending files
o Employer
o Institutions by the end of the 1st compulsory month
o Linkages
o Tables – Prior to any event that requires this information;
o Admission – the day before the start of the labor activity;
o CAT – 1st working day or, in case of death, immediate;
o Layoff – 1st working day following the date of resignation in the case of
notice, or 10 days in all other cases;
o Other events - until the 7th of the following month;
o Payroll and other income - until the 7th of the following month.
Transfer of the events
o Generation of electronic file containing the information
stipulated in layouts;
o Digital signature;
o Electronic document;
o Internet transfer to the “eSocial National Environment”;
o Verification of Formal Integrity;
o Issue of delivery receipt.
Implementation schedule
Support to eSocial
- Providing application for qualification of membership of existing
workers in companies - March 2014 - CPF, PIS / NIT and date of
birth on the basis of CNIS system.
- Manual of Technical Specification and XML webservice connection
– April 2014.
- Testing environment for webservice and receiving of the initial
events (pre-production) – available from May 2014 on.
- Testing environment for webservice connection and the beginning of workers registration – available from July 2014 on.
Implementation schedule
o Obligation to provide information via eSocial - domestic
employer mode – 120 days after the publication of the EC
regulation 72/2013.
o Deployment of eSocial for the first group of companies – Real
Profit Companies:
Until 10/31/2014 – Initial Registration;
From Oct. 2014 – Submission of events
Monthly sheet and calculation of taxes.
From Jan. 2015 – Replacement of GFIP.
o Deploying of eSocial with an Unified Gathering - Special Insured
and Small Rural Producers –
from May 1st 2014 on.
Implementation schedule
o Deployment of eSocial in stages for the second group of employers
– Presumed Profit Companies, National Simple, Immune or Exempt
Entities, MEI, small farmers: it’s being analyzed by the Ministries and
the Department of Micro and Small Enterprise.
o Public entities – Direct Administration, Municipal and Foundational
Union, States, Federal District and Municipalities – Initial Registration
until 01/31/2015.
Delivery of the first competence of eSocial (01/2015) -
until 07.02.2015.
o Replacement of DIRF, RAIS and CAGED and other information and
input of the labor court module – from AC 01/2015.

team for maintenance, but I do not want to adapt it to eSocial
because it is complex to do digital signature, and Webservice
