It’s time for the annual Young at Heart Spring Fling!

fun group!

Halo Run 5K May 7

Dust off those sneakers and get ready to walk/run on this first ever spring event! More information will be published in April Worship Guides.

Our next Blood Drive is May 10 from 4-8PM. Sign up at www.donortime.com

A Covenant Yard Sale will happen sometime mid-May. Get out all your “stuff” you no longer use or need. We’ll sell it at our yard sale! Please make sure all items are in working condition and clean. More information will be printed in future wor-

ship guides.

We are looking for First Followers to lead our local blood drive and to lead Operation Christmas Child. The people who take on this ministry will be our contact person and relate to the CBC and Samaritan's Purse, respectively; we will be there to help as will the entire congregation. Please prayerfully consider these openings and

take a step forward in faith. Thank you. Dale E. Hunt, Outreach Chair.

CLERK’S CORNER We celebrated with our new Pastor Sarah Sparks-Franklin on her ordination and installation on March 13, 2016. Outreach disbursements were given to the Franklin Area Community Services and the Springboro Community Assistance Center. We have 18 reservations for this summer’s mission trip to Eastern Kentucky. We will be moving to a monthly communion schedule beginning in May of this year. Details are coming together on our new special event to be held on May 7, 2016 – The Halo and Wings 5K. This will be a church wide option this year. Covenant Presbyterian Church has joined the Springboro Chamber of Commerce.

God’s Grace Abounds

There is no amount of preparation, parenting books, classes, and advice from others that can truly prepare someone for the milestone of parenthood. As Jono

and I look back on the past several weeks, we are in awe of the gift that God has given us in Cora. She is truly amazing, and a testament to God’s faithfulness in our lives.

Philosopher Pierre Teilhard de Chardin once said, “Nothing here below is profane for those who know how to see.” I find these words especially comforting as I look around at the profane chaos that is such a big part of our world right now. It’s so easy, especially as a new parent, to allow the 5 o’clock news to consume me with worry for my daughter’s future. To trust that even in the messiness, God’s grace abounds is quite a challenge for those of us who identify as Christian. But when Jono and I are taking family walks around our neighborhood during the first days of spring, or when I am looking into the eyes of our hungry, crying newborn in the middle of the night, everywhere I look, I can see God’s grace. It abounds! And I’m thankful.

In the midst of the stress and sleep deprivation so common with the arrival of a new baby, Jono and I have committed to one another to practice the discipline of being present to the moment, looking for God’s grace in everything that we’re doing. We are also so very thankful for the grace we have seen in all of you as our new church family. I want to express my gratitude to you for supporting us and holding us in prayer during this precious, sacred time with our daughter. As we look ahead, we are so looking forward to watching Cora grow, learn, and love at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Grace abounds!

In Christ,

Pastor Sarah
