Approved Curricula for Delaware Stars June, 2014

The curriculum resources listed below represent those published curricula that have been reviewed and approved by Delaware’s Curriculum and Assessment Task Force. Each has met the requirements of the Delaware’s Curriculum Rubric and fulfills the requirements for Delaware Stars Standard LC1. The Curriculum Rubric can be found at: http://www.delawarestars.udel.edu/?s=curriculum Early learning programs or publishers that wish to use a curriculum that is not currently on the published list of approved resources may request a review of their chosen tool using the following process. Early Learning Programs:

Review the information about curriculum to ensure you have selected an appropriate resource for your program. A document, “What is Approved Curriculum?” is available to help your decision-making. http://www.delawarestars.udel.edu/?s=curriculum

Complete an initial review of the curriculum against the Curriculum Rubric. The rubric is posted at: http://www.delawarestars.udel.edu/?s=curriculum

If your review results in a successful outcome, confer with your Stars Technical Assistant to submit materials for a formalized approval/

Submit a copy of the curriculum including all of the accompanying materials – handbook, family companion materials, activity cards, etc. to the Deputy Director of Delaware Stars for review.

The Deputy Director will forward the materials to the Assessment and Verification Committee for approval. The Task Force meets bi-monthly.

The Committee will notify the Delaware Stars Deputy Director of their recommendation who will inform the early learning program of the result.

The information will be added to the approved curriculum list and will be posted on the website. Publishers:

Work with the Deputy Director to determine the materials that need to be submitted for Delaware approval.

They will be forwarded to the Assessment and Verification Committee for review. The Task Force meets bi-monthly.

Following their review, the Deputy Director will be notified who will notify the publisher of the result.

If approved, a description of the resource will be added to the approved curriculum list and posted on the website.
