According to Traves- “Applied research is

undertaken to solve an immediate practical problem and the goal of adding to scientific knowledge is secondary”.

Applied research is one type of research that is used to answer specific question that has direct application to the world.

Characteristics of applied research:

Solve specific problems. It is practical. Provide more varied result. Direct evaluation. It is used in complex situation.
