General InformationThis release replaces all previous major, minor and emergency releases. All changes included in a major release will also be included in a minor release. There is no downtime needed to install a release unless specifically mentioned in the Trust Implementation Issues section. All sites can be upgraded to this release of CRIS. No changes are included in a release until the change passes all tests and that change has no known issues or has caused any new known issues at the time of release. Each release of CRIS is not normally released with any known major issues unless specifically mentioned in the know issues section.

4. Change DetailsThis section provides further details of each change.

HEAD refers to the development and unreleased testing versions of CRIS. Changes reported in HEAD are either new features not in any previous version of CRIS or issues that have only been introduced or discovered during development or testing of the next release of CRIS. Issues reported in a particular release, HEAD or otherwise, may also be pertinent to other releases of CRIS.

4.1 Database

211406 - Invalid report keys in inttodoReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 06.12o Resolved by: sjennings (Steven Jennings)

Description: inttodo showing report keys that do not exist in the reports table.Resolution: When a new report fails to save, the whole series of transactions including the report trigger being inserted in the interface messages table are rolled back, due to the report not being present on the system. When doing this an error message is shown to the user informing that the report was not saved, and the screen is not cleared. A record is also inserted into the CRISERR table indicating the failure.

4.2 Event Details

Description: If an exception occurs while displaying the order details on the dictation page then some of the details may not be displayed.Resolution: If an exception occurs whilst trying to display the order details in the dictation page CRIS will continue to attempt to display the remaining details.

Description: DTI images are loaded and then cleared straight away when double clicking an event on the unreported list while in dictation mode.Resolution: In dictate mode, the Report Info List's Unreported table, will no longer trigger twice



when double clicking an event. This means the PACS will not be sent a view and then a clear request.

4.4 Printing

213260 - Text clipping problems on reportsReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 06.12o Resolved by: aslack (Alexander Slack)

Description: Text on letters and reports can sometimes be clipped by a few characters on the right hand edge. This tends to occur unpredictably.

It is caused by a bug in the application that underestimates the printed line width when laying out the printed page.Resolution: Text on the right hand edge of a report is no longer clipped.

4.5 Reporting

213677 - Incorrect formatting of flexiform data in interface messages.Reported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 06.12o Resolved by: mcarter (Mick Carter)

Description: When a report that contains a flexiform is sent through the interfaces the formatting is not correct, particularly when a field is left blank.Resolution: Now will not insert the field name of blank flexi fields in the interface message. Also will not show a blank report message when pressing F5 if the flex form has been changed.

Description: It is possible to create a report with a blank reported by if the user logs out while reporting and then logs back in to complete the report.Resolution: The 'reported_by' field is now completed correctly when a user logs out while reporting and then logs back in to complete the report. It is displayed correctly within the report and also within the 'Report Properties' dialog box.

4.6 Scanning

212667 - Scanner not working / Scan setup screen unavailableReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 06.12o Resolved by: cking (Chris King)

Description: Scanner drivers do not work with new versions of java.Resolution: CRIS now uses updated third party scanning drivers that work with newer versions of java.

211863 - Multiple FTP Warning messages when viewing reports with scanned request cards from other trusts.Reported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 06.12o Resolved by: mcarter (Mick Carter)



Description: Multiple error messages can be shown if a user views reports from another trust that has scanned request cards. This is because the other trust has these request cards stored on an FTP server that can not be seen through the network. However it would be better if CRIS only informed the user once when the event was loaded rather than multiple times for each stored image.Resolution: Now any ftp errors will appear where the request card image should be, with the exception of newly scanned/loaded images which will display a single popup error dialog.

Description: Some users would prefer the unreported tab on the report info list to automatically refresh the list each time they have finished with the patient selected. Description: Currently the database has a foreign key CRIS_EXAMS_FK#3, which validates the EXAMS.INJECTED_BY field against the HDSUSE.USER_ID, however the software only allows the values stored in the RADIOL.CODE field to be used as the value. This foreign key needs to change to validate the EXAMS.INJECTED_BY field against the RADIOL.CODE field.Incident No. FJ - 270894

Description: An 'Array Index Out Of Bounds' and a 'Null Pointer Exception' are thrown in the Java Console when right clicking on the grey area of an ignored exam. This does not affect the user visible behaviour of CRIS.

Description: Change 207707 prevents the diary doing a large query when created without using Add to Diary. However the large query is still performed when changing date before an exam is selected, when changing range view, when refreshing, etc.

Description: It is possible to drag an appointment into the diary and then expand the appointment into closed slots. This is even possible with the setting APPT_OVERBOOK and APPT_OVERRIDE set to 'N'Incident No. HD186764 - CSC Ref

Description: The changing of an event status to waiting within the diary, by using the right click on an appointment in a slot, brings up a screen, which has fields that are unusable as they are squashed and not displayed correctly when there are more than 4 waiting status codes

Description: It is possible for the diary slots used to be calculated incorrectly when deleting an appointment for an event with multiple exams at the same time as changing the appointment to special or marking one or more of the exams as ignored.

Description: The changed Appointments scratch pad should list all appointments that have been changed in the diary since the scratch pad was cleared. It is also wrongly showing all appointments that have been selected but not changed on the diary.

5.2.3 Dictation

Description: The locking facilities in CRIS prevent two people from creating a report at the same time. However, they do not prevent a non VR user from creating a dictation when the



event has already had a textual report saved without using the CRIS dictation module, for example using voice recognition.

Description: In some instances CRIS does not close the images in PACS. When the user is reporting, when they click verify or finish, the PACS viewer does not receive a DTI message. This is not a problem when working through a worklist, as the viewer opens the next patient's images. But when they get to the end, or verify an individual patient's report, the images are left on the screen.

211704 - Carestream PACS gets focus when finishing a dictation.Reported in: 06.12

Description: It seems that when they end the report on dictation the focus goes back to the Archive Explorer on PACS instead of staying on the CRIS screen to carry on with the next patient.



Also it seems if they manipulate an image ie. zoom, window. it then takes the focus back to the PACS archive explorer instead of staying with the CRIS.

Description: The web based messages manager functionality does not close it's connection to the JMS server when displaying a list of messages. This causes the three connection handler threads to be retained, after a significant number of operations the application server will run out of threads.

A temporary workaround is to restart the application server from time to time.

Description: The Todays Messages processor creates a database connection the first time it is called in order to determine the database type. This connection is kept open but never used.

5.2.7 Login

Description: The SFTP client gives errors as it uses functionality introduced into Java in version 1.5. This is not too much of an issue for clients, as most are on Java 1.5, however a lot of the database servers are on Java 1.4, which will cause a problem for the scheduler SFTP.

Description: When using batch verify on obstetric exams the user cannot undo the verify action on an obstetric exam by using the right click option on the verify list.

Two radiologists load the same report into batch verify and the second radiologist ignores the warning saying that they are doing something potentially dangerous. Then the first radiologist modifies and verifies the report unaware of what the second radiologist is doing. The second radiologist then modifies and verifies the report again ignoring another warning that the report has been modified by someone else. This second save has wrongly removed the verified by code.

Description: When a report is typed from a dictation the radiologist code assigned to the report is always obtained from the dictation. This would mean that the report would never appear on any radiologists batch verify list. It also prevents reports from printing correctly.

Description: If a request card image is deleted or rescanned and the next scan done is by two separate users at exactly the same time then one of the scanned images can replace the other and one is effectively lost. This does not always happen and is very time critical to make the issue occur.

Description: When creating a new user security group the trust field is not restricted to the trusts in the prompt table. Any value can be entered as a trust. If a group is created with an invalid trust it cannot be added to a user.

Description: It is possible to enter a code of 2 characters into the CRISMOBL normal table even though the database field length is only 1 character. Add a warning message to the normal tables setup table that stops codes longer than 1 character being created in the CRISMOBL table.

Description: When adding a new exam code the DWT field should be defaulted to 'N' (in the database it is), but because the field is specified in the insert statement, if it is left blank, this displays an error informing that a null value cannot be entered into the field. The user should not have to fill this DWT field in for each exam code, it should be defaulted to 'N'.

Description: In the report phrase setup it is possible to create a phrase split into several lines. When this is reloaded for modification in the setup tables it appears to have been joined into one line. If the phrase is used however it is actually still split over several lines

Description: When you copy an existing appointment diary for whole weeks CRIS is supposed to take the week you are copying and copy it exactly as it is to the destination week, Monday to Monday, tuesday to tuesday etc. It does not always do this if you have part weeks defined or you set the start date to a day other than monday or the date you have selected for copying is not a monday.

Description: When html in the message of the day is wrapped due to being wider than the display, a grey area is rendered above the message of the day roughly equal in height to the wrapped section.

5.2.17 Statistics

207715 - Foreign fields in output fields of stats don't perform null checks.Reported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12

Description: Even if the fields that make up a foreign field in stats have the relevant null flags set, the checks still aren't performed. This means that a blank value is returned for some fields such as the DICTATE.By Name field, instead of the value against the blank code, which would be "Blank Radiol".

204943 - Case sensitivity on type "L" datafieldsReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12

Description: The datafield type of "L" is used for large text objects, as these can only have the operator of "in" applied to selections on them. The text stored within these database fields however, can be both upper and lower case, but the only datafields that are affected by case sensitivity are those marked as type "A" for ascii. Both types of "A" and "L" need to be affected when they are marked as being case sensitive.

201550 - Stopping stats on log out / shutdownReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12

Description: When a stat is running locally on a client, if the user shuts down CRIS or logs out and restarts, the stat is still set as running. If the stat is selected from the previous stats screen, the option is there to stop the stat, but no one is able to as no one controls the thread that belongs to the stat. The thread has in fact been shutdown at the same time the application was, and the stat query also stopped at this point. The stat should in fact have its status set to stopped when this happens, rather than still appearing as running.

206384 - <> operator on nullable fields in statsReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12

Description: When a field can be nullable, and the <> operator is used on a value, the null values are not included in the list of results. This is only a problem when using a specified value, not when using join on two fields

Description: In order to stop a running stat, it has to be selected from within the previous stats screen. This means once a stat has been loaded and started to run, the user cannot just press "Stop Stat", they have to find the stat in the previous stats screen and reselect it. This could be made slicker by enabling a user to press "Stop Stat" as soon as they have press "Run Stat"

Description: If a new stat is created from scratch and attempted to run before an output format type is selected, the appropriate error message pops up. However if the user selects no to continue the run, selects an output type, and then selects run again, nothing happens.

Description: The lookup lists in CRIS normally remove any end dated codes as they should no longer be used. This functionality has been copied across to the lookups in the stats module, however, stats are run retrospectively and it is possible that end dated codes need to be able to be selected to run stats on them.

Description: The view and print buttons are available when a stat template is loaded, when the template was created from a previously run stat. The view and print buttons should never be enabled when a template has been loaded, as there will never be any stat output files created for a template.

Description: There is no way for a trust to currently know what version of the stats package they have on their system. It would be useful if it was displayed to them somewhere. This would include the version number, the date of the version, and the date their system was updated.

202878 - Selecting from prompt table problemReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 2.07.12a

Description: When there is a prompt table used in the statistical reporting selections, that is large enough to require a scroll bar to view all entries, selecting an entry in the list actually selects the next row in the table.

Description: If an output template is saved from an existing stat, either a template or a previously run stat, then the stat template as a whole is saved immediately afterwards, and the overwrite option is selected, the stat is displayed with no output format on screen, and none in the database.

209146 - Linking tables being inserted when auto joins are not to be used.Reported in: 06.04 Fixed in: 2.07.12a

Description: When the "use auto joins" check box is not selected in stats, the links between the tables are not automatically inserted, however, the tables that the system believes are required for the auto joins are still inserted into the query. This results in invalid large queries, as even though the auto join links are not present, the tables are, and what is more, they no longer have a link to them as the system is not adding them automatically.

Also, if auto join links is not selected, if there is no selection criteria for the auto joined links, the system thinks we are still using them.

209084 - Removing multiple selection criteria in stats.Reported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 2.07.12a

Description: If multiple selection criteria are selected in stats, and the selected nodes contain brackets, when the remove button is pressed, the criteria is not removed and null pointers are thrown in the Java console. This can then prevent the removing of other selection criteria on the page.

209111 - Popup table displayed on valid selection criteria.Reported in: 06.04 Fixed in: 2.07.12a

Description: When selection criteria has been added to a stat such that one field = another field, if the focus is lost, either by clicking on the operator field, or by pressing tab, the popup



table is displayed (if there is one set). Other selection criteria can set selected, or return can be pressed and the pop up does not appear.

5.2.18 Stats Scheduler

212061 - Stopping long stats with large sql queryReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 2.07.12b

Description: The query which currently gets long running stats in order to warn or stop them when they will take too long to complete, uses the gv$sql.sql_text field. This field does not always return the required full query, but only the first 1000 characters. This can mean that the text returned does not always contain all the information required, and long running stats are not always stopped.

Description: The date expansion does not automatically happen in the start date and end date fields on the statistical reporting scheduler page

201188 - No message to the user if the report file cannot be FTP'd to the remote serverReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12

Description: When sending a report from the database server to a remote server, if the file transfer is not completed an error message is not generated in the application.

5.2.19 Voice Recognition

204486 - Abnormal application termination with Voice Recognition enabledReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12

Description: The application abnormally terminates (VR is enabled) when the X is pressed on the Continue Without Voice Recognition ...... Show Report dialogue which is shown if a user tries to load the report editor before Dragon has finished loading.

205785 - Assigning Dragon user to new CRIS userReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12a

Description: If a CRIS user who has not been assigned a Dragon user logs into CRIS in Voice recognition mode then CRIS will ask Dragon for a Dragon user id to tie to the CRIS user. If the user cancels the Dragon dialogue box without selecting a new Dragon user then CRIS will use the same Dragon user as was previously open on this PC.

Description: On a workstation configured to use voice recognition the VR microphone icon at the top has a hover help so that it shows the Dragon user id loaded. When the user logs out and another user logged in then this hover help shows the previous user ID until either the user navigates to the report page or presses the microphone button to turn on or off the microphone.

Description: Using the "Clear Patient" command in voice recognition incorrectly changes the CRIS microphone icon to show the microphone off icon.

208435 - Correction menu fails to close after correctionsReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 2.07.12a

Description: The pop-up correction menu, triggered by the 'correct that'/'correct [word]' command will on occasions remain open after corrections have been made. This seems to occur when Dragon misinterprets correction menu commands, such as 'choose two' or registers other input as valid dictation and continues entering text into CRIS. The only way to close the correction menu after this happens is by clicking on the application window.

206299 - Assigned Dragon VR User Changing.Reported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12

Description: Occasionally a CRIS users assigned Dragon id seems to change to someone else’s.

5.2.20 Worklists

Description: Some of the hover helps on the Porter List do not display the code description.

205231 - Batch verify list report buttonReported in: 06.12 Fixed in: 07.12

Description: The report button on the batch verify list takes the user to the report that was selected. However if a list is loaded the button is disabled until a report is selected. If another batch verify search is then performed, the button is still enabled, and when pressed would take the user to the report screen for the old report that was selected. Each time no report is selected in the list, the buttons should be disabled, not do the action on the previously selected event

Description: The dictation list does not always return the oldest dictations when there is a max limit set. It returns a number of dictations that match the selected criteria up to the max number set but of Oracles choosing which can be random and not always the oldest.

Description: When an order is selected for a pas patient who has not previously been registered on CRIS, then CRIS does not perform the match test to check if this patient already exists on CRIS.Incident No. CSC HD91590 This issue has been resolved in CRIS 06.12f

Description: The unreported list fetches all the results for the specified search criteria before updating the list. It should fetch 5 days worth of data at a time and update the list in between queries.
