You will communicate by e-mail with the Project Advisor to provide your critique of the Maehr Park Clean & Green Up and to ask permission to plan a celebration party. You will then schedule a party-planning meeting with the Maehr Park Project team leaders, create and assign tasks for the party, create a note for yourself, respond to a meeting request, organize and locate messages, and archive and save files. 1. Read, Print, Compose, and Send an E-mail Message a. In your Inbox, open, read, and print the Request for Critiques message from your Project Advisor. b. Create a new message—not a reply—to the Project Advisor (your teacher). Include an appropriate subject line for your message, and include the personal signature that you created in the Lesson 1 Do It Yourself exercise. Apply a theme, if desired. c. Attach MaehrParkParty.xls to your message for your Project Advisor to review. d. In your message, include a brief evaluation of the Maehr Park Project by answering the questions in the Request for Critiques message (see Figure 1).     2. Schedule a Meeting, Invite Attendees, and ManageYour Calendara. Assume that your Project Advisor gave you the approval to

    schedule the party-planning meeting. In your Calendar,schedule the meeting for the first Tuesday in June at 7 p.m. inthe Project Advisor’s office; set a reminder for 5 hours before themeeting. Then, send a meeting request to invite the project teamleaders to the scheduled meeting.

    b. Assign all four team leaders as contacts to the party-planningmeeting.

    c. Add an all-day event called MP Project Party to your calendar onthe last Saturday of June. Indicate the School Gymnasium is thelocation, and use the default reminder notice.

    d. Apply a conditional format to all calendar items that contain theword party so that they will be displayed in the color green.

    e. Add the custom category Party to each party item in the calendar.

    f. Display and print a monthly view of the calendar. (Note: Be surethat the date of your planning meeting and the date of the partyare displayed.) Then, display and print a daily view of the

    calendar for the date of the party; make sure that you will beable to write notes about things to do that day.

    3. Create, Assign, and Update Tasksa. Create a task request Order party food and beverages to assign

    to Azmi Maghathe. Create another task request Hire party DJto assign to Jermaine Samuels. Both task requests are due thethird Friday in June. Create a task Plan party cleanup for youto handle (due the day after the party).

    b. Assign the custom category Party to your contacts for AzmiMaghathe and Jermaine Samuels, and assign the Party categoryto each of the three tasks.

    c. Open and read the task Next Year’s Project. Assign it to one ofyour classmates (as instructed by your teacher).

    d. When you receive a task assignment from a classmate, eitheraccept or decline it. Track the task status by examining theDetails tab in the Task Request window.

    e. Update your Plan party cleanup task to 50% complete (seeFigure 2). Then, change your Tasks view to show only unfinished(Active) tasks.

    4. Create a Notea. Create a note that reads: Tell Jermaine about the disc jockey

    I heard last weekend. Should we use him for the party?

    b. Assign the Party category to the note, and assign Jermaine tothe note (so that you can pass the information along to him).

    5. Respond to a Meeting Request and Manage YourMessagesa. In your Inbox, open and read the Party plan approval message.

    Propose a new time for the meeting.

    b. In your Inbox, search for all messages that are related to MaehrPark. Move the messages into the Maehr Park Project folder.

    c. Assign the Party category to the party-planning message.

    d. Select the message you sent to your Project Advisor with yourcritique and save it as both an HTML file (named xxx-Subject-html) and as a text file (named xxx-Subject-text). (Note:Replace Subject with the subject of your message and xxx withyour initials.)

    e. In your Inbox, archive all messages prior to today’s date or thedate provided by your teacher (see Figure 3).
