ICELT is a teacher training course for people who are already teaching English to speakers of other languages.

It allows you to:• develop your teaching knowledge and skills• gain formal certification of your English language

teaching ability • refresh your English language teaching skills if you

trained a while ago or have had a career break• transfer your teaching skills into a new area (e.g. teaching

adults in a private institute when you trained to teach at secondary level).

You can take ICELT if … ✓ you’re a practising teacher with at least 500 hours’

experience (by the end of the course) ✓ your English is at Level B2 of the CEFR (Common European

Framework of Reference for Languages) or higher.

How long is the course?ICELT is a flexible course that fits around you. You will need to complete a course of at least 120 hours of study, over a period of a few months to a year, to complete both modules of ICELT.

You can study either completely face-to-face, or partly face-to-face with distance learning support.
