Within the frame of a modern and practical comprehensive program for wellsite geological, geochemical andengineering data, SPT-Synergic Petroleum Technologies S.A. Introduces as a standard service organicgeochemical analyses for cutting samples, sidewall cores and cores, through the pyrolysis Rock-Eval II andTotal Organic Carbon Analyses. This type of operation ensures sample quality control through depthrepresentativity of samples and identification of potential contaminants, from wellhead to lab, and reportsubmission to client. It ensures, as well, to have “reliable” results in less time, which translates into a moreefficient and less costly operation.
The main focus in our program of geochemical services is hydrocarbon source bed evaluation, theidentification of maturity levels, as well as to provide additional data to assist in payzone identification. The use of pyrolysis Rock-Eval/TOC as a screening method eliminates the need to carry out moredetailed studies for those areas showing no potential. This enables detail analyses on the more interestingintervals to begin sooner.Geochemical information and applications can be summarized into three categories:
SOURCE BED EVALUATION
? Total Organic Carbon (T.O.C) content.? Evaluation of source rock quality and hydrogen richness
? Determination of remaining potential for hydrocarbon generation.
? Estimation of the hydrocarbon type generated by the source (oil or gas).
? Determination of source bed maturity and depth required for oil generation.

The use of reliable equipment and the handling of high quality data analysis, in conjunction with theexperience of SPT-Synergic Petroleum Technologies S.A. in the application of organic geochemistry, arecombined to provide our clients with the best geochemical service possible.
Instruments mainly used by SPT-Synergic Petroleum Technologies S.A are? Rock-Eval II pyrolysis equipment? TOC determinator ? High resolution gas chromatograph? High sensitivity and selectivity spectro-fluorometer ? Data processing equipment
Analytical results are presented in complete interpretative results per well (including geochemical log), orelse as simple data on tables and geochemical plots.
PAYZONE EVALUATION
? Identification of potential producing zones by direct analysis of cuttings.? Identification of accumulated and migrated hydrocarbons.
DRILLING APPLICATIONS
Recognition of important or problematic sections of a well through identification and location of specificgeochemical zones.? Correlation with electric logs and formation evaluation logs to improve any other data obtained and to
aid in determining perforation intervals.

Compared to the total expense of drilling operations, the cost of our geochemical services is minimumwhen considering time and availability of the geochemical data. On the other hand, the many ways of
implementing analytical programs provides flexibility for adapting to different budgets.
The benefits obtained are:/ Representative and controlled samples./ Effective contamination control./ Results quickly available/ Integrated geochemical data, from source to Mud Logging and Formation Evaluation./ Effective application of geochemical results./ Higher overall efficiency of the process./ Lower costs./ Integrated Service Concept - no “Third Party” interventions - from design of the geochemical
sampling program to delivery of results.
