1. How expensive is it to use no vision system?

The decision to use automatic optical inspection systems (AOI) is also a matter of cost-benefit ratios. In other words, the rationality potential of such a system.

Inspection systems are expensive, produce nothing, and do not contribute to the overall results of the business. However, modern assemblies use more and more and smaller components that make manual inspection impossible. Or components that can not be tested with electrical tests or are hidden from the human eye.

The question is:

What costs will manufacturers risk because they do not use AOI systems?

2. What does Vision & Motion stand for?

Vision & Motion enters the market as a personally liable engineering company in order to help our customers to produce products accurately with the help of optical inspections. In particular, these are image processing methods, also known as artificial vision technology.

The name Vision is synonymous with the term "machine vision" and thus describes the com-puter-aided solving of tasks that are based on the capabilities of human vision (https://en.wi-kipedia.org/wiki/Machine_vision)

The name Motion is synonymous with "Motion Analysis" and refers to the recognition and inter-pretation of movements within a sequence of images. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_ana-lysis)

Camera and computer give machines, independently of humans, the ability to make decisions based on image data. The recorded images are evaluated by the computer, relevant infor-mations are filtered out and the results are transferred to a controller that can react accordingly.

Questions as to whether all contacts of a chip are soldered, whether scratches on a body can be seen, or whether the adhesive application of car doors are completely in shape and position, the steering wheel airbag has been installed correctly, etc., can be answered reliably and repro-ducible. And there are many numbers of applications in the world of production that are waiting for answers about their consistent manufacturing quality.

Surface inspection, completeness control, metrology, identification and robot guidance are typi-cal applications of image processing. Even outside industrial production, image processing sys-tems perform tasks in personal identification, document processing or traffic control technology.

Human can recognize objects in different situations because they have the ability to include the environment of the object for image interpretation. The human can also complete missing or in-complete information by linking it to other signals in a larger context. These cognitive abilities do not belong to machines. However, if all boundary conditions are known, a machine can be programmed using mathematical algorithms and technical-physical methods to be far superior to human eyes in terms of durability, accuracy, speed, and redproducibility.

We offer solutions to our customers wherever complex, nonexistent or impossible visual human controls can be replaced by technology,.

In the following, we will show selected examples from our projects that illustrate the world of arti-ficial vision and illustrate the capabilities of such systems.
