Applying through the Online Application Portal (Søknadsweb) –

Campus Narvik

This user manual is designed purposefully to guide you step-by-step to understand our general admission requirements, register

your profile correctly as an applicant and upload/manage your admission documents.

How to get started with Søknadsweb

1- UiT Application Guide

Based on experience, more than 90% of applications for admission are rejected because of having failed to correctly

understand our general admission requirements. We have prepared this guide to help you understand those requirements in

order to submit a complete application. Please take your time and go carefully through the guide.




2- Register your email1. Choose «UiT Norges Arktiske Universitetet» (UiT The Arctic University of Norway) as your institution from the dropdown

menu. Remember to choose “English” in the Språk/Language box!




2. New applicants & “old” students: Log in as “international applicant” (Login for users without Norwegian National

Identification Number)

Current students: Please use “Feide” to log in with your email username and password. You can order a new password if you

have forgotten your old one by clicking on “I forgot my password”.




3. New applicants & “old” students: choose “Register international applicant”

Current students: Go to “page 10” to “Create your profile”




4. New applicants: Click on “Next” if you are first-time user or did not register your email before in Søknadsweb.

NB! Please do not register with an alternative email if you are already registered in the system with another email.




5. New applicants: Choose “No, I am not a Nordic citizen” if you are coming from a non-Nordic country (Denmark, Iceland,

Finland and Sweden) and click on “Next” to proceed.




6. New applicants: In order to avoid confusion and delay caused by duplicate applications, we urge you to answer carefully this

question: “Are you or have you been a student at UiT?” before clicking on “Next”.




7. New applicants: It is very important for returning students (whether exchange or regular) to answer carefully this question:

“Have you applied to UiT admission in the fall semester of 2013 or later?” before clicking on “Next”.




3- Create your profile8. New applicants & enrolled students: Start your profile by registering yourself as an applicant. Please make sure to register

the following correctly:

- First name and Family name as it appears in your passport

- Email: use valid email address that can be used until September 2016. We will use this email to contact you and send you

crucial information.

- Date of birth should be in accordance with your passport.

- Citizenship: the country of your citizenship, not the country of your residence.




9. An email with instructions and containing your automatically generated password will be sent to you. You can change this

temporary password later.




10. Use your email and the automatically generated password to log into the Søknadsweb and click on “Log in”.




11. Make sure to register your address correctly. Please use street name, street number, phone number and zip/city code in the

right areas. You can also choose your own password here.




4- New application: To start your application, click on “Studies at Campus Narvik” and select the study programme you

want to apply for.




Start selecting your programme. Make sure always to click on “OK-Save”. If you have an important message for us, please use the

field “Extra information”.




Make sure to click “OK-Save” before proceeding




Receipt page: you will be directly to this page after you have clicked on “OK-Save”




Start uploading your document! You can always access this page by clicking on “My documents”. This page will allow you to add

new documents or delete old ones. Make sure to upload your documents in PDF-format.




Education: Upload only academic credentials here. Write the name of your institution correctly and make sure that the name of

your PDF-file matches the “Description”. Please do not write unnecessary information.




Other documents such as CV, Reference letter and Statement of prupose should be uploaded here.




My documents: Remember always to manage your documents here by uploading new documents or deleting existing ones.




My applications: Here you can manage your applications by adding a new programme or by deleting an existing one.




Personal information: to update your contact information. Please make sure to use an email that is valid
