Ⅰ. Academic Program: Undergraduate degree course(2,3 years) after preliminary

Korean Language course(1 year)

※ Scholars must reach level 3 in TOPIK after the completion of a one-year preliminary Korean

Language Course, otherwise, scholars are not allowed to take a degree course

※ Scholars with level 5 or higher in TOPIK shall begin to take a degree course from 2021 spring

semester without the preliminary Korean language course.

Ⅲ. Qualification Criteria

1. An applicant and his or her parents must be citizens of the country where this scholarship is offered

※ Students from ODA recipient countries(146 countries except for North Korea)

※ Both applicant and his/her parents must not be a holder of Korean Citizenship

2. Should be under 25 years of age as of March 1, 2021 (Should be born after March 1, 1996)

3. Have an adequate health, both physically and mentally

※ Those with severe illness are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply

4. Have graduated or be scheduled to graduate from a high school as of March 1, 2021

※ NOT Eligible

- those who have already obtained an associate bachelor’s degree or a higher degree

- those who have graduated or are expected to graduate from a high school in Korea

5. Must possess above 80% (out of 100%) cumulative grade point average(C.G.P.A.) or must be within

20% (out of 100%) in the rank during their entire high school period

※ C.G.P.A. should be 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, 3.23/5.0 or higher

※ If an applicant's high school has an evaluation system different from the above scales, please

refer to attached appendix

6. Those who are willing to find employment in respective professions after obtaining their degree

7. Have not received before the same scholarship benefit from GKS program

8. Have proficiency in the Korean or English lanuage, Engineering majors will be given preference.

Descendants of the Korean War Veterans will be given preference.

9. Must have no limitations in traveling abroad

2. Benefits

※ Any grantee that quits the program within 3 months after s/he entering Korea, should refund all

scholarship. Furthermore, any grantee who gives up his/her study in the half way during the

scholarship period will not receive airfare and allowance for return to his/her country.

※ NIIED does not compensate expenses for the domestic travel both in the grantee’s country and in

Korea.

※ Airfare for entry into Korea will not be provided to a grantee that has been staying in Korea as

of the date of announcement of successful candidates.

Ⅷ. Important notes

1. Applicants should follow the regulations and instructions for application and admission set by College

and NIIED.

2. Applicants are liable for any disadvantage caused by documents containing false information, failure

to submit required documents, errors or omission in documents, or unreadability of documents.

3. If a student is found to have submitted incomplete or untruthful documents, forged or unlawfully

changed documents, or committed other illegal actions, s/he will be disqualified regardless of

scores, and his or her admission will be revoked even after the admission has been granted.

4. Once the application is completed, no change can be made to the documents nor can application be

cancelled. The submitted documents cannot be returned in any case.

5. Other documents besides those mentioned above can be requested to review the eligibility of

application.

6. Since this application guide will not be explained to applicants individually, each applicant must be

fully aware of the contents and the responsibility lies entirely on the applicants for any disadvantage

resulting from negligence.

7. Applicants are responsible for all the disadvantages from out of contact after application.

8. Evaluation scores and evaluation results of admission will not be disclosed.

9. After entering the college, students should follow school regulations of Inha Technical College.

10. Other details not stated above will be determined by the regulations of Inha Technical College and

NIIED.
