• Please note: The application form must be completed by the ‘operator’. The operator isdefined as ‘the natural or legal persons having an animal by-product or derived productunder their actual control, including carriers, traders and users’.

• Applications that are incomplete, that contain insufficient or unsatisfactory information orthat do not comply with conditions or legislative requirements will be returned to theapplicant and a revised, fully completed application must be re-submitted.

DPN 2– Meat Feeder Licences – Non-Greyhounds

Part A:

Information applicable to all Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine customers:

1. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine is fully committed to keeping all personaldata submitted by its customers, fully safe and secure during administrative processes. Allnecessary technical measures have been put in place to ensure the safety and security of thesystems which hold this data. Department staff are also considered as customers of theDepartment from a Data Protection perspective and may exercise their data protection rights inthe same way.

2. Transparency and openness in the use of personal data held is important to the Departmentand therefore we aim to fully inform all our customers about the purpose(s) for which their datawill be used and why, where it may be shared elsewhere and why and how long their data maybe held by the Department. The following data is specific information in relation to the personal data processed for an application for a meat feeder licence.

8. Specified purpose:

The requested data is needed to enable the Department to issue a meat feeder licence to theapplicant.

9. Legal basis:

Under Regulation 3(3) of SI 187 of 2014 the Minister may authorise the use of animal by-products for special feeding purposes (dogs from recognised kennels or packs of houndsincluding greyhounds).

10. Recipients:

Not applicable.

11. Transferred outside the EU:

Not applicable.

12. Retention Period:

The data collected will be held by the Department only as long as there is a business need to doso in line with the purpose(s) for which it was collected. After this time it will be marked fordestruction and will be destroyed in line with internal guidelines or guidelines for destructionreceived from the National Archives Office or associated permissions received from them.

13. Data provision being statutory or contractual obligation:

The data provided is being requested under the requirements of Regulation 3(3) of SI 187 of2014 and if the customer chooses not to provide this information their application for a meatfeeder licence cannot proceed.
