APPLICATION FOR AAFCS 107 th CONFERENCE AND EXPO REGISTRATION AWARD AWARDED BY: Washington Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (WAFCS) Purpose: Registration assistance to Washington AAFCS student members to attend the AAFCS 107 th Conference and Expo in Bellevue, Washington, from June 22-25, 2016 It has been nearly 20 years since the AAFCS Annual Conference and Expo has been held in the Pacific Northwest. The annual conference and expo offers pre-professionals important opportunities for networking, attending content sessions, and participating in activities. WAFCS recognizes financial constraints may prevent undergraduate student members from attending the AAFCS Annual Conference and Expo. For that reason, WAFCS is prepared to offer scholarships to assist students with their registration fees. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE AWARD, YOU MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: 1) a student member of AAFCS; 2) a current college junior, senior, or 2015-16, graduate; and 3) a first time attendee at the AAFCS Annual Conference and Expo

It has been nearly 20 years since the AAFCS Annual Conference and Expo has been held in the Pacific Northwest. The annual conference and expo offers pre-professionals important opportunities for networking, attending content sessions, and participating in activities. WAFCS recognizes financial constraints may prevent undergraduate student members from attending the AAFCS Annual Conference and Expo. For that reason, WAFCS is prepared to offer scholarships to assist students with their registration fees.

B. Conference Commitment: We ask that you agree to give 10 hours of service to the conference. There are many ways to assist. Please indicate ways you are willing to help:____Volunteer at registration-assembling or handing out packets, answering questions or directing attendees____Assist at the local information desk- answering questions, or distributing promotional items____Assist with national student unit activities____Room facilitator- assist or introduce speakers, distribute materials, or take room count____Special events volunteer- take tickets, make sign changes, usher, or take room counts____Assist in other ways as needed
C. Resume Include work experience, leadership, and community service. This should be no longer than 1 page.
D.Personal Statement Write a brief essay (up to two pages) indicating why you wish to attend the AAFCS Annual Conference and Expo in Bellevue, Washington. Include your future career goals, and tell us what led you to major in Family and Consumer Sciences.
