OVERVIEW Bethany Baptist Church SBC annually presents a minimum award of $250 (maximum $2,000) through the church body to all qualifying students-members pursuing higher education (University, College, or Trade school). The BSFA program is managed by the College Ministry Team. Upon returning all required materials by the established deadline, an interview is scheduled with our ad hoc Scholarship Committee. The ad hoc Scholarship Committee facilitates the screening and interview process of the scholarship. Email correspondence will be sent to inform applicants of their status. Award letters will be issued the 2nd Sunday in June. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Applicants must be a member of Bethany Baptist Church SBC and an active participant in at least two

(2) church ministries, auxiliaries, or committees. (Church membership and auxiliary participation will be verified.)

Applicants must submit enrollment documentation, and be in good standing each year they desire to be considered. (Official high school transcript, college transcript, fee receipt, etc.)

Applicants must submit a picture with each application. (Pictures may appear on the 2nd Sunday in June.)

First time applicants must supply a typed, double-spaced 250-word essay. (See page 2 for essay topics.)

Applicants must completely fill out a Bethany Scholarship Application Form.

Applications and all required material must be returned by the deadline MAY 24th.

Applicants must be interviewed by the ad hoc Scholarship Committee. (An interview will be scheduled once an applicant has returned the completed scholarship application by the established deadline.)

UNDERGRADUATE & GRADUATE REQUIREMENTS Applicants pursuing higher education away from home must be active with a local church body or

service organization. A letter of acknowledgement from the local church or organization should be submitted with the scholarship application.

Undergraduate applicants must be enrolled in full-time course studies; a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours.

Graduate applicants will be handled on an individual basis.
