1-3 News - Cynthia Collins

We have had an excellent start to our learning year in the magnificent 1/2/3 classroom. Already we have settled in to classroom routines and have begun learning!

This week Mrs Cannavo read us the story ‘Elmer and Wilbur’ and we made some colourful patchwork elephants that you will see on the show off board right at the front of the school.

A big thank you goes to Mr and Mrs Casey for donating a colourful set of shelves for our classroom-we really love them! Enjoy Show Day everyone and come back with more energy for learning next week!

Year 4-6 News - Katie Favaro

Welcome back to all families! We also welcome the new students and families to our school. Students have settled in well this week. Today is HaSS we studied all things ‘Australian’. We discussed the significance of Australia Day, completed a map and flag and also researched some interesting facts about our country. In Science we studied features that animals have to be able to survive in different environments. This afternoon we enjoyed painting Bottlebrush flowers as part of our Art Lesson.

Prep News - Carmel Butler

Welcome back to a fabulous new year everyone. Our new Preppies are delightful. They are super listeners and workers and they have had a wonderful week settling into their new classroom, learning new routines and making lovely friendships. Thanks to our fantastic parents for having them so beautifully prepared for school.

We have studied all things Australian this week: the unique native animals we have, Show & Tell with an Australian theme and learning our beautiful National Anthem. We counted animals on an Australian bushwalk, learned lots of positional terms in Maths by following fun directions on the playground, studied the States of Australia and even made vegemite sandwiches after reading 'Possum Magic'. Please send along Library bags on Monday for our first lesson. We will be into our full routine next week but have all thoroughly enjoyed our first week of Term One. Have a super long weekend. Cheers Carmel.
