Apple Tree House

Description

Apple Tree House is all and more of what one would look for in a coastal property. The main house, which dates back to the 1980’s, was completely renovated and extended in 2006/2007 and today boasts luxurious accommodation, all of which take the upmost advantage of the stunning sea and distance rolling hill views. In addition it is surrounded by idyllic gardens which lead directly to a sandy beach. The property is also superbly located close the quaint village of Rathmullan and surrounded by an abundance of excellent amenities.

The bright and spacious accommodation is laid out over two floors and on entering the stunning views are immediately evident through many of the floor to ceiling picture windows. The drawing room boasts the most specular Apex window and hours could be enjoyed watching the ever changing scenery of the sea and always present wildlife. The house is a split level property and is entered at first floor level where the main reception rooms and three bedrooms are arranged off the central hallway. At ground floor there are further reception rooms and a guest bedroom suite, which all open to private terrace and the wonderful gardens.

Apple Tree House has been created by the current owners to enjoy the landscape and the wonderful seaside location and there are a number of sheltered, sunny spots to enjoy the gardens and the surrounds. The house its self has terraces and a large balcony for alfresco dining and the gardens have many quiet spots in which to relax, including the gazebo. This sits on a small mount and boasts 360 degree views of the house, gardens, sea and beyond.

The owner’s renovation project went far beyond the main house and they have invested considerable time and energy into creating unique gardens which are a delight to wander through. An adventure in the garden may bring you walking on stepping stone by one of the streams; heading over the pond bridge to the island or simply taking the garden gate to the sandy beach and eventually finding yourself in Rathmullan Village.

A second entrance to the property gives access to the solid oak garden or workshop building, which was designed by Roderic James Architects and built from solid oak by Carpenter Oak Ltd. This 2 storey building is charming in appearance and with the necessary planning permission could be converted into an excellent guest accommodation. The building has wiring and plumbing and at approx. 138 sq. m. (1,488 sq. ft.) it could make a spacious four bedroom guest house.
