Apple Pie BlockThese instructions are to make 1 block. Refer to the block diagram for piece placement. Sew a clean white solid triangle to each side of a 1½” x 3½” red herringbone rectangle to make a Triangle Unit. Repeat to make another Triangle Unit. Sew a 1½” x 3½” red herringbone rectangle to each side of a 1½” blue stripe square to make the Center Unit. Sew a Triangle Unit to each side of the Center Unit to complete the block. Square up block to 4½” x 4½” being sure to carefully center the blue stripe square and the red herringbone rectangles. Repeat to make 30 Apple Pie Blocks.

Apple BlockUse your favorite method of appliqué. Refer to quilt photo for placement of apple, stem and leaf pieces. Make 20 Apple Blocks.

Apple Pie Block and SashingRefer to the quilt photo for block placement. Sew an Apple Pie Block to a 4½” x 6½” yellow dot rectangle. Repeat to make a row with 5 Apple Pie Blocks and 4 sashing rectangles. Make 6 rows labeled A.

Sashing and Apple BlockRefer to the quilt photo for block placement. Sew a 4½” x 6½” yellow dot rectangle to an Apple Block. Repeat to make a row with 5 sashing rectangles and 4 Apple Blocks. Make 5 rows labeled B.

Quilt Center AssemblyRefer to the quilt photo for row placement. Lay out rows A and B. Sew rows together to complete the center of the quilt.

BordersSeam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew side borders first.

Border 1Side borders should be 54½”. Top and bottom borders should be 46½”.

Border 2Side borders should be 56½”. Top and bottom borders should be 58½”.

Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric from the Apple of My Eye Collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt.
