Apple iPad The iPad is a revolutionary new tool that will
bring endless options for teachers and students
Features of iPad
The Screen The high-resolution, 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS
display on iPad is remarkably crisp and vivid. Which makes it perfect for web browsing, watching movies, or viewing photos. With iPad, there is no up or down. It’s designed to show off your content in portrait or landscape orientation with every turn. And because it uses a display technology called IPS (in-plane switching), it has a wide, 178° viewing angle. So you can hold it almost any way you want and still get a brilliant picture, with excellent color and contrast(apple.com/ipad).
Features Continued…
The screen is about 9.7 inches diagonally which makes it about the size of a magazine
It is about a half an inch thick with a battery that lasts about ten hours
iPad is completely wireless and finds available Wi-Fi networks to connect with at 3G speeds
. There are countless apps for the iPad. Here are a few of the hundreds of uses for education
One app for the iPad is iBooks. It is a free app which can be used to buy and read books right on the iPad. This is a great tool to have for students especially with summer reading. You can check the school reading list right online with the iPad and then instantly buy the book.
Calendar and Planner
Another fantastic use is the calendar and daily planner. This is a use that is great for any student or teacher to keep track of their schedule. You never have to worry about what you have to do, you can just look it up.

One Last Feature
The last features I will discuss are the very basic ones. The iPad has access to the internet for research. You can also you it to prepare presentations or write a paper. There are countless uses for the iPad and endless opportunity for teaching.
ACCESSIBILITY Built-in accessibility. iPad comes with a screen
reader, support for playback of closed-captioned content, and other innovative universal access features — right out of the box. There’s no additional software to buy or install. These features make iPad easier to use for people who have a vision impairment, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have a physical or learning disability.

Pitfalls for the iPad
There is one big downside to the iPad for schools and educators. The iPad has many great uses when used correctly. Students today are extremely computer savvy and would have to be monitored with their iPad uses to ensure they are being used appropriately.
In Conclusion!
The iPad has endless possibilities for students as well as educators. It is a fantastic tool for organization, research and presentations. The iPad when used appropriately can enhance any level of student’s learning. I only went over a small portion of the available uses for the iPad. I recommend for you to check out the iPad and see the possibilities yourself.
