•A. They were all with one accord in one place

Page 3: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

1. The word translated with “one accord” (Greek homothymaden), meaning likemindness, occurs twelve times in the New Testament, eleven of which are found in the book of Acts.

This shows the unity of purpose among these early disciples. This also shows how important it is for the church today to be in one accord.

2. We all must show an interest in what God is doing and we must have united faith and earnest prayer for God to move today.

•B. The coming of the Holy Spirit of God with power was accompanied by two manifestations. The first was the sound of a rushing mighty wind, and the second was cloven tongues like as of fire.

Page 7: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

1. They were filled with and baptized with the spirit of God.

Jesus.

ISAIAH 28:9-12 •9 Whom shall he teach

knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

Page 10: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

ISAIAH 28:9-12 •10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Page 11: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

ISAIAH 28:9-12 •11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

Page 12: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

ISAIAH 28:9-12 •12 To whom he said, This is

the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Page 13: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

ST MARK 16:17 •17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues

Page 14: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

ST. JOHN 15:26 • 26 But when the Comforter is

come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

Page 15: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

St. John 16:13 • 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit

of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Page 16: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

Page 17: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

ST. MATTHEW 3:11 • 11 I indeed baptize you with

water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire

Page 18: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

ST. LUKE 3:16 •16 John answered, saying

unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire

Page 21: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

•E. Glossolalia, which is the speaking in unknown tongues, is not always proof of the presence of the spirit of God. Because there are also pagans who practice in speaking in

Page 22: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

•E cont. •other tongues. Nevertheless

JOEL 2:28-32 • 28 And it shall come to pass

afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Page 59: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

JOEL 2:28-32 •29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

HOW TO OVERCOME HURT

Page 64: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

Don’t blame God. God loves you and would never ever do anything to hurt you.

Page 65: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• When people hurt you, they do so because they have been deceived by the devil.

Page 66: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• The devil hates you and he is seeking to destroy you.

Page 67: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• The devil, however can’t demonstrate his hate for you without someone to work through.

Page 68: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• Always remember, the people who are being used by the devil are hurting and have been wounded themselves. They are walking in deception; they have no idea they are being used by the devil,

Page 69: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• nor are they aware of the fact that everything they are doing to you will someday come back on them. So these people need your love, prayers, and mercy.

Page 70: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• If you fail to love and forgive them, you then set yourself up to be used by the devil, and then you become just like the people who harmed you.

Page 71: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• We must be able to separate the act from the actor.

Page 72: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• It is quite all right to hate the act; but we must never hate the actor.

Page 73: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• A major key to walking in the victory among Black Christians is to come to understand that most of us have been greatly hurt and wounded; with this knowledge, we must be watchful to be lied on,

Page 74: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• lied to, and taken advantage of. Then we must be quick to understand them and forgive and pray for them.

Page 75: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• If you learn to walk in this truth, no matter what they say about you or do to you, they cannot stop what God is doing in your life.

Page 76: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• I have been blessed; although my Black brothers and sisters have sought my destruction.

Page 77: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• The secret is to place the blame where it belongs; blame the devil!

Page 78: APOSTLE RONALD C. HILL, SR. Acts 2:1-16 August 3, 2011 August 6, 2011 STUDIES IN ACTS.

• When they treat you with honor and respect, place the glory where it belong; give the glory to God.
