the birth of Frederick Chopin. Six stu-

dents from the class of prof. Tanja

Jankova from the University in Skopje

performed on the programe.

Their professor Tanja Jankova is winner of first price on the State guitar com-

petition in 1993 in Skopje and second price for chamber music. The public

On December in Apollonia Hotel was held seminar on the theme Safety of the children’s toys and safety of

the cosmetic products which was organized by the Association of consumers of Macedonia and financially was sup-

ported by the German association for technical cooperation. On the seminars the legal advisers of this association

Mirjana Lonchar and Tatjana Tasevska promoted the bro-

chures for the public.

“Nobody in the state can guarantee you that

some of the toys or cosmetic products which are on the

market are 100% safe, especially not the once that come

from China. That’s why the expenders should pay atten-

tion on the product and the declaration as well as best

before date ”, says Tasevska.

The lecture was followed by the kindergartens, the chil-

dren playground centers, estheticians, associations of

citizens, nongovernment organizations, and other interested parties.

NATURE DAY activities

The environmental project for children “Nature Day” continues

with the activities for 2010. January was reserved for the theme

“Ecology in our community”, with the main goal to teach children about

Reducing, Reusing and Recycling. So one very cold Saturday morning we

went to visit the enterprise

for trash “Bliznak kom”

which is located at the sub-

orn of Gevgelija, close to the

picnic area Dinkut.

The kind personal explained

us how they separate and prepare the paper and plastic for recycling,

what happens afterwards with them and we could also see some of the

recycling products. From the

old paper one factory in

Skopje makes new paper for packing, new paper bags, and they can

even make new notebooks, the plastic is grained and like that can be

used to make new plastic

pipes, and the PET (plastic

bottles) is being melted and

again used for some new

plastic products. What was

very interesting to remember

was the fact that for one plastic bottle to dissolve 450-700 years should

pass. Through conversation we found out that children today are called

“oil children”, because of the fact that the biggest part of the food and

clothes are produced artificially, not like in the past when the resources

of the nature were used on totally different way.

The care for the young is a priority

Toys and cosmetics without harmful materials
