Hey there, if you've found this then i guess you stumbled upon my script or i sent you the link to it. This is the first draft of my Pilot, to a series that i've had in my head for a while. I hope you enjoy it.

  • 1 APOCALYPTIC THEN PILOT SCRIPT SCENE 1- EXT BARRENWASTELAND ACT 1

    EXTREME WIDE SHOT:OF A DESERT VALLEY NEAR A MAJOR HIGHWAYFULL OF CARS ALL STOPPED WITH NO ONE IN THEM

    ZOOM IN:THE CAMERA ZOOMS IN FROM AN EXTREME WIDE SHOT TO AWIDE SHOT SHOWING TWO MEN WALKING IN THE HIGHWAY VACANT OFPEOPLE

    WIDE:TAN MAN AND PALE MAN IN BARREN HIGHWAY FULL OF CARSPANNING ACROSS THE HORIZON.

    The camera pans out to show 2 people in a mostly barrenwasteland of what formerly was a busy highway, one a paleman in his late teens, of nordic descent around 60 to 62height and somewhat chubby, hes wearing a flannelpatterned jacket and tattered slacks, he has a backpack onhis back filled to the brim. his face is covered in dirtand he looks generally unclean, the other is also a manbut much more tan, hes much shorter, somewhere around thesize of 510 to 60, a lot thinner and dressed a lot moreprofessionally, he doesnt have a backpack but he iscarrying around a large briefcase also looking very fullas you see items bulging in the outside of the case. he isequally dirty.

    POV:OF THE BINOCULARS

    the pale one takes out a pair of binoculars as the camerachanges to the perspective of a scope.

    TAN MAN(inquisitive)

    you seeing anything man?

    the scoping of the binoculars continue as he looks uponthe barren highway, full of rusted cars and not a personin sight.

    PALE MAN(unsure)

    not sure, all i see is a bunch ofrusted out junkheaps but whoknows.

    ZOOM IN:ON THE TWO MEN

    The PALE MAN puts the binoculars back in his backpack, andtakes out a medium sized revolver, as the tan man looks athim with a reluctant look on his face.

    TAN MAN(flustered)

    come on KAI, do you really needthat?

    (CONTINUED)

    KAI, does a double take as if to give the TAN MAN a "areyou serious look"

    KAI(dubiously)

    you say that now, but id ratherget grief from you than a bulletin me.

    TAN MAN(defeatedly)

    Ok you win man holding the gun,just try to avoid shooting me ifyou can.

    KAI does a smirk at his friend

    KAI(mockingly)

    oh haha, very funny. you seem toforget all the times my so-called"violent and sociopathic nature"have saved your pacifist ass.

    TAN MAN(urgently)

    well this mans pacifist asswould like to get moving andcheck those vehicles for suppliesbefore we roast in this fuckingsun

    KAI(encouragingly/humorous)

    well lets get moving then DAVE,wouldnt want your beautiful faceto get a little burnt by the sun.

    WIDE: KAI AND DAVE MOVE THROUGH THE HIGHWAY IN A PANNINGSHOT

    KAI and DAVE start moving through the highway, KAI istaking lead with his pistol checking all of the cars. theyall seem to be completely empty until they find a caravanwith some water jugs in it and miscelleanous food items.CLOSE UP: ON THE VEHICLE WITH KAI AND DAVE STANDING RIGHTNEXT TO IT IN AWE

    KAI(gleeful)

    miracles dont happen much thesedays, but this is a miracle ifive seen one.

    DAVE(agreeing)

    she sure is a beauty buddy, yougot that right.

    TWO-SHOT: DAVE OPENING THE CAR AND KAI WATCHING OUT FORHIM

    DAVE opens it up and puts the items in his seeminglybottomless pit of a briefcase.

    CLOSE UP: KAI SMILING EARNESTLY

    KAI(shit-eating grin happiness)

    look at our lucky day davie, thisis a great day to be us, which isa very uncommon occurence.

    CLOSE UP:DAVE LOOKING BACK AT KAI CONFIDENTLY

    DAVE(confident)

    dont worry man, things arealways looking up.

    MEDIUM: DAVE PUTS THE ITEMS IN HIS BRIEFCASE AND CLOSINGUP THE CAR WHILE KAI LOOKS CAUTIOUSLY

    DAVE finishes putting the items in his briefcase with KAIlooking out to make sure no one is around. they close upthe car and start walking away from the myriad ofvehicles. KAI stops the two of them, and looks worried.

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP:KAI AND DAVE STOPPED IN THE HIGHWAY

    KAI(curious)

    so what now man? it seems likewere just going from place toplace, i know it being in themiddle of the fucking desert imnot in the ideal place to have anexistential crisis but imgetting a little panicky.

    DAVE(reassuring)

    its ok man, dont worry. letsjust make our way back to thecar, and we can go from there. iknow things seem a little crazyand scattered right now but wellfigure things out.

    KAI(secure)

    alright man, whatever you say. iguess i just get worried thatwere kind of going nowhereslowly.

    DAVE says nothing but verbally nods and pats him on theback, they continue walking more or less non-verbal untilthey get near the car.

    CLOSE UP:ON KAI AND DAVES FACES, THEY LOOK DISTURBED ORANXIOUS

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP: ON THEIR CAR WITH A UNKNOWN MAN STANDINGIN FRONT OF IT WITH A DEVIOUS SMILE, HES HOLDING A RIFLE.

    the MYSTERY MAN, has a 500$ haircut, and a suit that youwould not even want to know how much it cost. hes holdingan assault rifle, he isnt exactly pointing it at the menbut hes also not not pointing it at the two travelers. heis of similar height to kai, but very muscular and verywell groomed.

    TWO-SHOT: KAI WITH AN ANGRY LOOK ON HIS FACE UNCLICKINGTHE SAFETY ON HIS REVOLVER POINTING IT AT THE GUY WITH THERIFLE, AND DAVE LOOKING FURIOUS

    KAI(furious and murderous)

    GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE BEFORE IBLAST OFF YOUR HEAD YOU FUCK

    DAVE(INTENSE)

    YEAH! WHAT HE SAID, BUTTFACE.

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP: ON THE MYSTERY MAN POINTING HIS RIFLE ATTHE GROUND, MOVING A LITTLE CLOSER AND CHUCKLING

    MYSTERY MAN(charsmatic)

    Well, come on gentleman. Is thatany way to treat your bestie?

    TWO SHOT:BACK TO THE TWO MEN, LOOKING PENSIVE ANDDEFENSIVE

    CLOSE UP: MYSTERY MAN BARES HIS TEETH SMILING

    END OF SCENE 1

    GRAPHICS CARD SHOWING TEXT "6 MONTHS EARLIER"

    2 INT- LARGE METALLIC ROOM, VERY OPEN WITH ONLY A FEW PEOPLEINSIDE

    PAN:CAMERA PANS AROUND LARGE METALLIC ROOM, YOU SEE KAIAND DAVE, MUCH LESS DIRTY AND MORE PROFESIONAL LOOKING. ASWELL AS A FEW OTHER UNKNOWN CHARACTERS.

    KAI and DAVE are looking unsettled, the other 3 charactersare of assorted appearance, the other 3 characters are alladults in their mid 20 to late 20s, one is black, one isasian and one is white. Suddenly a door opens

    POV: KAI LOOKING AT THE DOOR OPENING, AND SEEING THE MANFROM THE SCENE BEFORE WALK IN, IN FRONT OF THE 5 PEOPLE INTHIS ROOM.

    OVER THE SHOULDER: OF THE MYSTERIOUS MAN, SHOWING ALL 5 OFTHE CHARACTERS

    All 5 of the characters get up from their casual leaningagainst the wall and present themself in front of the man.

    DRAKEEase up dudes! dont look soserious, i know im worth morethan all 5 of you combinedmultiplied by 10 but theres noreason to look so serious. Im afun guy!

    KAI and DAVE chuckle a bit, but the rest of the peoplestill look as serious and intent as before.

    TWO-SHOT: ON KAI AND DAVE

    DRAKEI like you guys! you seem fun,not like mr. grump pants, mr. nofun, and mrs. stick in the mud!

    Drake looks over at the other three smiling slyly

    WIDE: OF ALL OF THE CHARACTERS IN THE ROOM

    DRAKEIm just kidding man! Anyways, iprobably should just cut the shitas youre all busy and possiblymurderous men and womenrespectively. anyways if youdidnt knwo already, my namesDrake if you didnt already knowand i have a business propositionfor all of you fine featheredfriends.

    POV: OF KAI AND DAVE

    DRAKESo more or less, i have some"unscruptulous" or not exactlylegal actions that need to bedealt with and you all came hereand i assume from the looks of ityou all are willing to commitsuch actions for payment. Sinceall 5 of you came, i figure itsbetter off if you work together.also that way if one of you die,you can still finish the missionalright.

    CLOSE UP:ON DRAKES FACE

    Drake looks competely serious and waits a minute, and thenlaughs boisteriously.

    DRAKEoh boy, you guys are one toughcrowd. well either way, i have awaiver and some other logisticalnonsense youll need to look atbefore i can have you fresh southof the border of morality buddiesof mine go and do this work forme. SAMANTHA! THE BOXES!

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP:ON THE DOOR DRAKE CAME THROUGH

    A woman with a headset and a professional looking dresswalks through frantically holding very well sized boxes,five of them one for each of the people in the room.

    WIDE:ON ALL FIVE OF THE CHARACTERS BEING TALKED TO BYDRAKE INCLUDING KAI AND DAVE, AND THE WOMAN HANDING THEMBOXES

    she hands them out individually to each one of them, theyall are of a indrustial metal with a little latch thatneeds to be unlatched. KAI is the first person to open itand he looks inside

    POV: KAIS PERSPECTIVE LOOKING IN THE BOX.

    The box contains a waiver, a pen, a very high-tech watch,and a futuristic looking gun, its a 12mm pistol with aglowing design and a first aid kit. KAI grabs the watchand pistol, putting the watch on his wrist and feeling itcalibrate

    CGI:A SCREEN APPEARS IN FRONT OF KAI, STILL POV SHOWINGHIS HEART RATE, HIS CURRENT BLOOD PRESSURE AND ALL OTHERHEALTH STATISTICS AS WELL AS THE AMOUNT OF BULLETS IN THEMAGAZINE OF THE FUTURISTIC WEAPON HE HAS.

    KAI smiles and laughs, hes amazed by this technlogy.

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP:DRAKE SMILES IN RETURN

    DRAKEWell its one of the many upsidesto running one of the biggestcompanies in the world, i cangive out some nice little gifts.and well i can assure you itsnothing like that, though beforeyou leave make sure to sign thosewaivers. its not like its a bigdeal, but its just in case somebandit rips off your forearm andbludgeons you to death with it,we can say "well you signed thiswaiver saying you accepted thatthis hilarious but awful eventcould occur."

    CLOSE UP:ON DRAKES FACE

    DRAKE slyly smiles to show his joking nature.DRAKE

    Of course, thats all in jest.You all seem like you can takecare of yourself quite alright,especially Mr. T over here butits just some legal jargon soyou can get your fancy swag andgo do what you amoral fellowsdo. No offense intended ofcourse.

    DAVEWell, i mean youre not incorrectabout the whole amoral thing sowe cant really take offense

    KAIYeah, i mean im not offendedenough to not sign it and takethis awesome shit.

    BLACK MANListen man, im just here to makesome damn money. ill signwhatever.

    BI-RACIAL WOMANUsually when im offended i shootpeople but since youre the onegiving me the gun that seemsimpolite so ill sign yourwaiver.

    WHITE GUYListen man, im gonna level withyou. im too blitzed out of mymind to even comprehend what youjust said but ill sign whateveryou want me to, you seem like astand up sort of guy.

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP:ON DRAKES FACE

    DRAKE looks happy almost a childlike glee, he grins andwatches in silence as they sign their waivers.

    DRAKEWell im glad i didnt have tosway any of you too much, as imentioned youll all be workingtogether. These watches are 2 waycommunication devices, you cancommunicate with us here at theold base, and we can communicatewith you and give you info or youknow we can just have a good oldchat if you got any questions.Beyond that they also do a bunchof other snazy shit that im sureall of you will find interesting.Oh yeah, and outside theres anifty little vehicle that i hopeyou all enjoy. Ok gang, lets getit going!

    The group of characters finish signing their waivers, theyhand it over to SAMANTHA who has been sitting awkwardly inthe corner for the duration of this meeting. And they allhead off to go outside.

    CONTINUOUS SHOT:FOLLOWING ALL OF THE CHARACTERS LEAVINGTHE ROOM THEY CURRENTLY ARE IN.

    3 INT- OFFICE BUILDING FULL OF WORKERS INSIDE OF LARGERINDRUSTIAL BUILDING.

    CONTINUOUS SHOT: FOLLOWING DRAKE LEADING THE MERCS THROUGH

    DRAKEWell, i guess before you leave togo off to a daunting task ishould show you the innerworkings of Eclipse. We havequite the workhorse staff here,dont try talking to them though,theyre much too busy making memillions upon billions of dollarsto talk.

    DRAKE turns back to the mercs and gives a shit-eatinggrin.

    DAVE

    SO I GUESS SINCE I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASK, WHAT DOESECLIPSE ACTUALLY EVEN DO? LIKE ALL I KNOW IS THAT YOU GUYSMAKE "TECHNLOGY" AND ARE "INNOVATORS". BUT WHAT DOES THATMEAN?

    While still walking through the busy office passingseveral high-tech computer stations with very stressedlooking twenty somethings DRAKE speaks back to DAVE

    DRAKEHonestly, id love to tell youthat i know what we do and im inthe loop about it but im so farremoved i dont even know myself.We could literally be aninvestment banking company atthis point, all i know is that wemake a lot of money and theressomething with technlogy. Once ifigure out more ill let you knowhow about that man?

    DAVE looks befuddled but appreciative of his honestydespite the fact it makes DRAKE look a bit dumb.

    DAVEWell, um thanks for your honesty?

    DRAKEIts no problem buddy!

    DRAKE and the company of merry mercs make their way to theback of the office building to a door that marks its wayof leading outside.

    KAI and DAVE say nothing but politely wave goodbye, andopen the door on the exit to a new world

    4 EXT,OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE BUILDING, IN A JUNGLE LIKE AREA,VERY MUDDY AND FULL OF VEGETATION.

    Beginning of Act 2

    Subtle lonely guitar scoring begins as the aerial pan ofthe terrain begins

    ZOOM IN:ZOOMS FROM AN AERIAL PAN VERY HIGH ABOVE OF THEJUNGLE TERRAIN TO A LOWER BIRDS EYE VIEW OF THE 5 MERCS.

    TRACKING SHOT: BEHIND THE GROUP OF MERCS GOING FORWARDFROM THE EXIT OF THE COMPOUND TO THE APPROACHING OF THECAR

    They examine the car, its almost a lincoln towncar oftypes but turned into a humvee, in the front it has theunmistakable appearance of one but in the back it has a mgmounted on it.

    5 INT LINCOLN TOWNCAR/HUMVEE HYBRID

    KAI enters the driver seat.

    POV:KAI LOOKS DOWN AT HIS FEET AND THEN OPENS THE DOOR TOTHE DRIVER SEAT, SIT DOWN AND LOOKS AT THE INSIDE OF THECAR.

    The key is already in the car, and KAI revs up the engine

    KAIMan! this sounds awesome!

    KAI grins as DAVE jumps in the passenger seat next to him.CLOSE UP:ON DAVES FACE AS HE LOOKS AT KAI

    DAVEI agree! for a machine of deathits pretty fancy.

    DAVE opens the glovebox and rifles through the dossierpapers given by DRAKE.

    TWO-SHOT:OF THE ASIAN WOMAN AND THE DRUGGIE GOING INTO THEBACKSEAT

    the ASIAN WOMAN and THE DRUGGIE are looking around, sheseems not entirely impressed and he seems too dazed in hisown world to really care.

    and finally the BLACK MAN jumps in the back and armshimself on the mg turret.

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP:ON THE BLACK MAN

    TWO-SHOT:ON KAI AND DAVE IN THE FRONT SEAT.

    DAVE is looking through the files and papers left byDRAKE, while KAI prepares to start driving, as if waitingfor DAVEs lead.

    CLOSE UP:ON KAIS FACE LOOKING @ DAVE

    KAISo you got any clue where thefuck we going senor dave?

    DAVE looks playfully flustered and looks back at KAI.

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP:ON DAVES FACE IN RESPONSE.

    DAVEexcuse me it is "monseignor dave"you simpleton, but im honestlyvery confused myself but i assumegoing down the closest road is

    OVER THE SHOULDER: KAI LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW

    KAIWhatever you say brother, yourethe brains of this operationwhich admittedly gives me concernsince you may be one of thedumbest men ive ever known, butthats splitting hairs. on we go!

    DAVE looks humorously perturbed by that statement butcant find himself disagreeing.

    TWO-SHOT:OF DAVE AND KAI IN THE FRONT SEAT, IN THEBACKGROUND YOU CAN SEE THE DRUGGIE AND THE ASIAN WOMANTOO. THEY CONTINUE DRIVING AS YOU SEE THE DIRT ROAD IN THEBACKGROUND AND FORESTRY TO THE SIDES.

    DAVEWell, i dont mean to make thingsawkward for all of us currentlybut i guess if were going to bedoing some "unscruptlous things"together i feel like we shouldmaybe learn a little bit abouteach other.

    KAI turns his head to dave and nods his head in agreement.

    CLOSE UP:ON DAVES FACE

    DAVETo start, ill tell you a littlebit about me. My names Dave, im20 years old, i dontt reallyhave a "profession" to put itsimply, but im a bit of a lawyerwithout all the fancycredentials. The man to my left,is my best pal and businesspartner but ill let him speakfor myself.

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP: ON KAIS FACE CONCENTRATING ON DRIVINGBUT EASING UP

    CLOSE UP:ON ASIAN WOMAN AS SHE BEGINS SPEAKING

    ASIAN WOMANMy names Alyssa, im 24 yearsold, ive killed a lot of people,sometimes for fun and sometimesfor work. thats about it, dontworry though. were workingtogether, i wont kill you unlessyou give me a reason. so idsuggest not giving a reason.

    Dave visibly shakes out of fear and THE DRUGGIE wakes up abit more as he prepares himself for introductions

    DUTCH TILT: ON THE DRUGGIE HAVING A SHAKY LOOK

    THE DRUGGIEOn that scary, sociopathic notemy names tony. Im 27 years old,as you may have noticed i have abit of proclivity for drugs, idont let it get in the waythough, trust me. im a fuckingenius when it comes to anythingthat ticks, runs with a computeror anything mechanical, not toobad with explosives either, lookforward to working with youfellas and lady. btw, that bigguy on the turrets my buddy, hemight want part of this wholething.

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP:ON THE BLACK MAN LOOKING AT THE RESTTHROUGH

    Almost as a beck and call The BLACK MAN sees everyonetalking inside so he knocks on the window separator andKAI lets it down so he can hear them.

    BLACK MANWhatcha talking about fellas?its awfully rude to not invite amember of your team to a pow-wow.

    The BLACK MAN starts to smile and laughs reaches for hispocket.

    CLOSE UP:ON BELT-LINE, YOU SEE HIM GRAB A PACK OFCIGARETTES AND PULL ONE OUT WHILE STILL HOLDING THE PACKIN HIS HANDS

    CLOSE UP:ON LEFT SIDE OF HIS BELT-LINE PROCURING A LIGHTERFROM THE OTHER POCKET

    CLOSE UP:ON BLACK MANS FACE WITH A CIG IN HIS MOUTH LIT.

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP: ON BLACK MAN WAVING HIS PACK AROUND TOTHE OTHER GUYS IN THE CAR

    BLACK MAN waves out pack of cigs to everyone

    TWO-SHOT: EVERYONE IN THE CAR GRABBING A CIG OUT OF THEPACK, AND ALL LIGHTING WITH THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL CIGS.

    WIDE:OF ALL OF THE MERCS SMOKING SILENTLY IN THE CAR

    MEDIUM CLOSE UP:ON BLACK MANS FACE

    BLACK MAN

    WELL I THINK THAT PUTS US ALL ON ANEVEN GROUND? ANYWAYS MY NAMES MARSHALL, IM 32, IPROBABLY CAME OFF LIKE A DICK OUT THERE BUT IN MYEXPERIENCE, RICH GUYS LIKE DRAKE ARE ONLY OUT THERE TOMURDER YOU SO I GIVE THEM THE "TOUGH QUIET BLACK GUY" DEALIN HOPES I MIGHT GET PAID EXTRA FOR IT. IT ACTUALLY WORKSSOMETIMES (CHUCKLES), MAKES ME LAUGH EVERYTIME. THATSENOUGH ABOUT ME NOW THOUGH, LETS GET THIS SHIT DONE AREWE ALMOST THERE?

    POV:OF KAIS PERSPECTIVE

    Kai is looking in front of him curious, he sees some typeof building about 500 feet in front of him but he alsosees tons of murderous looking bandits with guns.

    KAIWell, looks like its not gonnabe entirely easy, im gonna stop

    TWO SHOT: MARSHALL AND TONY SITTING THERE WITH A SMIRK?

    MARSHALLCome on, is this your guys firstday? We just gotta utilizenumbers you understand?

    CLOSE UP:ON DAVE LOOKING BACK FROM THE PASSENGER SEAT

    DAVEWELL I CLEARLY JUST SAID I DONTHAVE A PLAN SO NO I DONT, COULDYOU PLEASE EXPLAIN AND DONT HURTME BIG TOUGH PERSON.

    CLOSE UP: MARSHALL SMILING
