GENERAL RULES

1.  The quiz bee is open to all first year to fifth year BS

Accountancy students.

2.  A school can register up to two teams per quiz bee. Each team

must be composed of three members.

3.  The composition of each team will be as follows:

  Basic Accounting Quiz Bee –  open to students that

have taken or currently taking Basic Accounting I

and II only.

 

Advanced Accounting Quiz Bee –  open to students

that have taken or currently taking all/some board

exam subjects.

  General Knowledge Quiz Bee –  open to all students.

4. 

Participants must bring their School ID and wear the proper

business attire.

5.  Participants must be at the venue at least 15 minutes before

the competition proper.

6. 

Participants will be allowed to use scientific calculators but they

will have to bring their own.

CONTEST PROPER

1.  The contest will be composed of 2 rounds, the elimination

round and the final round. The elimination round will be

composed of 25 questions and the final round will be

composed of 15 questions.

2.  The top 10 teams with the highest overall score from the

elimination round will enter the final round.

3.  The quiz is composed of 3 levels of difficulty: Average (Allotted

time –  15 seconds), Difficult (Allotted time –  30 seconds) and

Exasperating (Allotted time –  60 seconds). Each question will be

flashed on the screen to be read by the Quiz Master.

4.  The allotted questions for each level is asked randomly

throughout the competition, meaning the first question may be

an Average level question and the next may be from the

Exasperating level.

5.  The points will be represented by the quiz chips that will be

given prior to the contest proper. There would be two kinds of

chips in the match: the normal chips (Red, Blue, Green) & the

super chips (Gold, White, Black). The pointing system and the

effects of the chips would be as follows:

6.  Each team will be given: 10 red chips, 10 blue chips, 10 green

chips, 5 gold superchips, 10 white superchips and 5 black

superchips.

7.  Every team must use 1 normal chip per question. The superchips

can be used with the normal chip depending on the team’s

strategy. It is not required for the teams to consume all the

superchips in the entirety of the quiz.

8.  Before the question is stated, each team will be given 10

seconds for them to decide the chip(s) to be used (either

normal chip only or normal chip with superchip) that will

determine the points to be added or deducted to teams’

score.

9. 

The quizmaster will read the questions only twice. There would

be separate copies of the question to be given to each team.

10.  Participants can only start computing and writing their

answers after hearing the “GO” signal. The time that will be

given to them will depend on the difficulty of the question.

11.  The participants will raise their answering board as soon as

the time is up.

12.  The quizmaster will announce the teams with the correct

answer.

13.  At the end of the final round, the three teams with the

highest points earned will be awarded as: Champion, 1st runner

up and 2nd runner up.

14.  In case of a tie, clincher question will be given by the

quizmaster.

General Rules:

1.  The JPIAlympics: The 5th Wave is open to all BS Accountancy

students.

2. 

Each school shall register a minimum of one (1) team.

3.  Each team must be composed of one (1) team captain and

eleven (11) team members. 

4.  The teams should be pre-registered prior to the event. 

5.  In case of non-compliance with the pre-registration procedure

for the JPIALYMPICS event, they can still join as walk-in

participants given that they are registered for the cup and can

complete a team. 

6.  Participants must bring their school ID for registration and wear

proper sports attire.

7. 

Participants must be at the venue at least fifteen (15) minutes

before the contest proper.

8.  Participants are not allowed to bring any sharp objects on the

event.

Contest Mechanics:

1.  The goal of the entire game is to win in all the twelve (12)

stations and survive the five (5) waves. (A team is surviving if it still has

 six (6) team members) 

2.  Each station will have a game and a small flag will be provided

as proof of winning the game.

3.  In case a team lost the game, they can compete again on the

same station with other teams which have not yet won on that

game.

4.  The team who have completed the twelve (12) small flags

within the shortest time and survived the five (5) waves shall be

the winner.

5.  The length of time of completion shall be based on the

accumulated time consumed on finishing the game on each

station. Thus, each team shall be timed from the

commencement of the game up to its end in each station.

The Waves

1.  During the course of the game, a series of waves shall be

executed.

2. 

At the registration area, each participant shall be given five

life badges which should be left adhered on their back

during the course of the game. Each badge represents their

life.

3.  The games in each station shall stop at the commencement

of a wave, therefore, timer shall also be paused. The end of

the wave marks the resumption of the game. Timer shall

likewise resume with the resumption of the games in each

station.

4.  During each wave, the members of the extinction

committee will be permitted to snip life badges.

5.  A member of extinction committee shall only get life badges

designated for a specific wave.

1st Wave- Lights Out Badge

2nd Wave- Surfs Up Badge

3rd Wave- Pestilence badge

4th Wave- Silencer Badge

5th Wave- The Final Badge

6.  If a participant’s life badge was snipped out during a wave,

the participant shall be directed to the alien base.

7.  If the member of the extinction committee got the wrong

badge for a certain wave, the participant is still considered

surviving.

8. 

In case a team leader has been temporarily out of the

game due to the execution of the waves, a member should

temporarily substitute the former.

9.  The team leader who has been temporarily out should again

assume the position as team leader in case the team leader

has escaped the alien base.

10. 

A participant may be considered an escapee if the

member has won one of the numerous mini-games inside

the alien base.

11.  If a participant has not escaped the alien base before the

arrival of the 5th wave (final wave), the participant shall be

considered a member of the extinction committee. Thus,

they have been vested the power to get other’s badges for

the final wave.
