SCHOOL TRANSPORT

The school provides buses that are following all the safety regulations as directed by CBSE. A lady escort accompanies children from the first to the last stop. The buses are equipped with GPS, tracking system and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system to track the boarding and de-boarding of the students, Fire Extinguishers, First Aid Box and Water supply.

SAFETY AND SECURITY MEASURES

Safety and security of our children both inside and outside the school premises is of paramount importance for all us.

The school has an internal safety and security audit committee. The members of this committee audit daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/bi-annually/annually as per the area concerned.

The school also has safety and audit team as per the Directorate of Education comprising parents, teachers, students and Principal for monthly audit.

The school had 110 CCTV cameras to cover the whole campus of the school.

The high boundary wall has been further secured by barbed wire over and above the grill.

The school staff including teachers report to school at 7:30 a.m., half an hour earlier than

the school timings. The teachers are on duty at different vulnerable areas in the school

premises at the time of arrival, dispersal and break time.

The school dispersal is conducted totally under teachers’ supervision.

Lady guards are on duty outside each washroom.

Additional “Aayas” have been appointed outside the girl’s washroom and children of the Primary wing are escorted by a maid while going to the washroom.

The school has a separate toilet for the ancillary staff.

Entry of all the visitors and ancillary staff is recorded and maintained in the designated registers. Also visitor passes are issued to strangers when they visit the school.

CELEBRATIONS JANAMASTHMI

Apeejay School , Panchsheel Park organise this festival of Janmashtami with grandeur and religious

fervor on August 23,2019. Dressed in the attire of Krishna and gopikas, the tiny tots spread the

message of ancient puranas and highlighted the old traditions. This event brought awareness among

the children about traditional coustom while enjoying the pranks of LordKrishna . There was a brief

introduction on the early life and birth of Krishna , which enlightened the mind s of these tiny tots . the

week witnessed an inter class ‘tableau making ‘ competition . the students under the guidance of their

teachers presented Jhankis’ depicting events fromKrishna’s life , ‘Krishna’s birth in Karagar’,

‘Govardhan pooja’, ‘Raslila’ and ‘Geeta – Updesh .The entire day’s activities nurtured their little minds

and marked the day with fun and frolic. with this enthusiasm was more magnified when the V S Garg ,

Anita Paul and Principal Ritu Mehta came to embrace the event and encourage the kids with their

gracious presence.

HINDI DIWAS Stories are eternal part of one's childhood that gives wing to imagination and creativity and to turn in more innovative when the narrative is in the mother tongue Hindi thereby we organize HINDI DIWAS and children are given a great platform to take part to express their imagination through a Kahani Pratoygita where each kid came up with an interesting story to fill in a wonderful teaching along it making it a striking landscape of imagination.

GANDHI JAYANTI The theme 'Truth and non-violence ‘is encouraged by organizing Gandhi Jayanti celebration coinciding with the birth anniversary of the Father of our Nation lovingly called BapuThe tiny tots delivered short speeches and bhajans highlighting the quotes of Mahatma Gandhi and conveyed his noble messages in the most effective and influential manner. Through the presentation and poem the teachers stressed on the value of speak no evil, hear no evil and see no evil. The Mini Plant Exhibition was presented with a majestic touch of virtuoso by the students of grade-1 presenting each phase of viridescent with such an ace explaining the plants cycle how seed germinates to how it reproduces and different factors responsible for its healthy growth. YARN OF SURROUNDINGS 'Beauty is the realm of poetry’. Keeping this in mind, the kindergarteners of Apeejay School enthusiastically participated in the 'Rhyme recitation activity' as they got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The activity inspired the young ones to come forward and recite their rhyme during zoom session. The students came up with different rhymes on the theme “My neighbourhood” and recited them with great fondness and zeal. GRAMMAR IS A PIANO I PLAY BY EAR – GRADE 2 As we know that grammar is essential because it provides information that helps the reader's comprehension. We this belief, we at Apeejay School Panchsheel Park conducted a fun filled recapitulation activity for the students of grade 2. The activity was planned to reinforce the learning of usage of one and many. Students first revised the concept of one and many then presented examples from the immediate surrounding like books, bottles, spoons, bowls, pencils, etc. The students also depicted the conceptual understanding through beautiful pictograph. It indeed was a fun filled learning activity.

STORY ENACTMENT USING MASK – GRADE 4 Children used their creativity to prepare masks/finger puppets of different animals. Then there were asked to form groups of 6-8 students. Each group was asked to utilize their puppets/ masks to create some moral based story of their own and enact the same. This was followed by writing the story in their own words by each member of that group. They pasted or drew pictures as illustrations.

NON NATIVE FLOWERS – GRADE 5 The students were asked to gather information about flowers that are not grown in India. They were asked to draw/paste and write about any two. They were also asked to present it in the class. The aim of this activity was to encourage students to gather information about flowers that are non-native to India.

FORTUNE TELLER – GRADE 4 The children learn better if it is interrelated with games. Keeping this in mind a FORTUNE TELLER activity was done in class after introducing fractions. Students made a TIPPI TIPPI TOP game and played with their family members and friends. This game helped the children to develop numeracy and analytical skills.

CLASS III TANGRAM Children learn best when they are involved. Tangram is a Chinese geometrical puzzle which consists of a square cut into seven pieces. These pieces can be arranged to make various other shapes. Students made different geometrical shapes using Tangram and enjoyed doing.

POEM WRITING – GRADE 4 Grade 4 learners showcased their talent in poem writing and recitation on Measurement. This activity is a part of their offline performance output in Mathematics.

CLASS V ROLE ENACTMENT The class room was converted into a market place. The children were divided into four groups- whole sale, Shopkeepers, Consumers and their friends. Stationary items like pencils, erasers, sharpeners and pencil boxes were collected. The student decided the price of each item and put a price tag on each item. Then the shopkeepers purchased items from the whole sale shopkeepers and sell them to the Consumers. The shopkeepers noted down the CP and SP of each item they sell. The Consumers sold items to their friends. They also notedthe CP and SP of each item. Shpkeepers and the Consumers calculated the Profit and Loss of each item and then entered prices in the following table.

SOIL – GRADE 5 CLASS V SOIL The topic of Science Art integrated Project, class V for the month of November was Soil Erosion and conservation. The various activities conducted were poetry writing, collage making, talk and experiments. The students also made a 3D model on the layers of soil. The topics for the talk were Vanmahotsav or the journey of rocks to the soil. The collage exhibited the pictures of various methods to conserve soil. The students used coca cola bottles and showed how plants hold the soil particles together and conserve soil. The purpose of the art integrated project was to arouse interest, enhance creativity and make learning fun.

MY FOLDER – GRADE 3 “For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned” The aim of this activity was to help students recognize and appreciate that computer folders and files help people organize things in order to make it easier to find things later. During this activity students observed that numbers, colours, folders, and other markings are used for keeping track of things in a particular order. Through group discussions and videos, students begin to recognize that a value of storing things in a useful order is that it helps keep track of where things are and makes it easier for finding and locating these things later. They designed beautiful Folders from waste material using their imagination and creative skills Students gained from a hands-on example of files and folders before creating and using them on the computer. They develop and idea of keeping and organising their things like papers, documents, circulars, planners, certificates etc.

A little competition can inspire math students to greater achievement. It challenges students to use their math skills in new and creative ways. It also provides a challenging and engaging mathematical experience [that] is both competitive and educational.As a part of extended learning Maths Quiz was conducted in our school on 30/12/2020. Students Grade 4 and 5 participated in the Quiz and divided into 3 teams CIPHER, MATHS PIRATES and ALGE-BROS. Experience says learning mathematics can be made easier and enjoyable if our curriculum includes mathematical activities and games. Maths Quiz encourages , attracts, alerts and brings in an open-minded attitude among youngsters which helps them to develop clarity in their thinking.

WINDOW TO SWITZERLAND

As part of the school's endeavor to provide global exposure to our students and make them globally sought after children on, Ms. Easter, a Primary teacher from Switzerland visited Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park for Inter Cultural Exchange Program.

Ms. Easter visited all sections of Primary wing and had a great interaction with children. They discussed and shared information about the language, food, currency, climate and performing arts of their countries.
