Does doorbell and intercom work? Snow removal driveway/walkway (Who is responsible?) Mowing (Who is responsible?) Access to bus/groceries/schools Lead Paint (children under 6) Smoking Policy Pet Policy Condition of stairs Cable and/or satellite dish allowed Working Elevator INSIDE WHOLE APARTMENT Is the apartment clean and ready to go? No drafts around windows & doors Screen and storm windows Enough natural light Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors? No roaches or mice. Ask about bed bug history. Storage adequate closet/storage space? WALLS, FLOORS, DOORS No water stains on walls/ceilings/floors Carpeting? Is it clean & in good condition? Are the floors level? Working door locks, window latches & other hardware? Paint Condition? Evidence of Mold? KITCHEN Condition of sink, (scratched/stained/rusted/dented) Faucets & controls working? Any dripping? Does the sink drain well? Is the stove clean? Does it work? Are there adequate kitchen cabinets & countertops? Can the kitchen be ventilated (window or ven fan?) Check the refrigerator & freezer. BATHROOM Is there enough water pressure/hot water? Is the sink clean? Does the drain leak? Does it drip? Are there rust or water marks in the bowl? Does toilet flush completely? Does it run continuously? Is the toilet seat clean & in good shape? Is the bathtub clean, unstained, & properly caulked. Does the tub drain work? Does it leak? Is there a working showerhead? Is there a shower curtain rod? Is there a medicine cabinet? Are there mirrors? Towel rods? Are the lighting & electrical outlets usable & safe? Is there enough water pressure/ hot water? HEATING What kind of heating system is in the place? Electric or gas? Will the landlord charge you for water? Where is the hot water heater (gas or electric). Who pays for heat & electric, budget amount? Working air conditioner Energy efficient improvements such as windows, furnace,

appliances, insulation? Who controls temperature/thermostat?
