Patriotism, unity, and courage. The very emotions that our brave founding fathers used,

to spark the war for our independence and our freedom. The American Revolution was a hugeturning point in all of history. It not only sparked freedom for our country, it spread across the

world like a disease. The countries that were desperately waiting for their chance to be free saw

that freedom is not impossible to achieve. What those colonists did back in 1775 is still present

in our modern world, Egypt revolted after Hosni Mubarak served 30 long years as President.

Egypt understood the perception of the colonists when ruled by England and are finally

rebuilding their country. The American Revolution still lives with us today, as Americans we all

have a sense of patriotism for our great country. I think I can speak for every one of us when I

say that we are all proud to be American, to be proud of those truly unique men that fought so

very hard for our own independence. Isnt that what America is about? America is about the

freedom and the independence that everyone is offered. This country would not be the same if itwasnt for those who spoke for what they believed in. The Revolution is what significantly

pulled me into history, it inspired me to always follow what I believe, and that nobody can ever

    take your natural rights away.

After the hard fought revolution, the ideas of freedom circulated around the world. The

ideas of John Lockes natural rights and enlightenment went straight to Latin America. Toussaint

LOuverture led a slave revolt in Haiti which led to the elimination of slavery and Haiti

becoming the first republic to be ruled by African ancestry. Simon Bolivar the brains of the

revolution that led the revolutions in Venezuela even spent time in the new independent United

States. Americas biggest ally during the war had their own revolution. The French were inspiredby the Americans protesting and rebelling against the British monarchy, fighting for life and

liberty. The Americans also proved to the world that a government could function without

traditional power, classes of the monarchy, and the nobility. This gave revolutionaries

confidence that their idea of a republic could work. The French were encouraged to even make

some of the documents the Americans had. Like the Declaration of Independence and the

Declaration of the Rights of Man, they even had their own Bill of Rights just like the colonists

used to help form the government.

Its been 236 years, yet the feelings of freedom and change in society have not altered

since the revolution. Although the crisis in Egypt has been resolved, just a few weeks ago itshowed how Egypts society is revolting towards their government. The people of Egypt want a

change in power, just how the United States wanted to change and be an independent country.

Egypts President Hosni Mubarak served 30 years as President and the Egyptians were not happy

about that. They wanted a change in their government, a change for their country, and a change

that would be for the better of their lives. The principles that the Founding Fathers fought kept

the American Revolution from ending badly, in tyranny, as so many revolutions do. And the
