The AP US history survey course is designed to educate students on the facts of the United States history as they pertain to the Political, Social, and economic history of the country. Students will be graded via multiple choice and essay tests as well as routine quizzes and inclass and at home essays.
Each test will consist of multiple choice and essay questions as a way to prepare students for the AP examination in May. In addition to the basic history text books students will be required to due outside reading on the numerous topics which are covered in this course. In addition to the facts of US history, students will also be required to analyze primary source documents as historical evidence. Also, students will be called upon to read interpret and analyze present historical scholarship.
The essays, both take home and inclass, will be used to prepare students to write analytical and interpretive essays, including, but not limited to, Document based Questions, (DBQ’s), free response questions (FRQ’s) and thematic essays.
