AP & SPECIAL STUDIES HOMEWORK You are required to do homework assignments. These assignments will be a series of drawings

and mixed media pieces that you will use for your portfolio.  Each one should be considered

a complete art piece.  This means that composition and principles of good design can

and should be utilized.

Homework Assignment #4These are the homework requirements for

December. DUE Monday, January 3, 2012.

1. On page #13 of your sketchbook (rough white gesso), pick a photo of or a real flower to look at. Using Prismacolor colored pencils, draw the flower. Draw your flower VERY LARGE so that it fills the page. Look at examples of Georgia O’Keeffe’s flower paintings for inspiration.

2. On page #14 of your sketchbook (pencil powder on white paper), use a

kneaded eraser and a woodless pencil. Pop some popcorn. Take a few popped

kernels and look at the shapes and shades created. Draw what you see, fill

the page with them. DRAW BIG! Use the eraser to erase the light areas and the

pencil to shade the dark areas.

3. On page #15 of your sketchbook (red paper), draw a pair of shoes. You can use, colored pencils, oil pastels, or soft pastels. Draw big, fill the

page!

4. AP Art students must also complete 1 extra assignment to fulfill

the AP Portfolio requirement. This assignment will be completed on

page #16 in your sketchbook (white paper). The subject must be from

your Concentration and the media is your choice. This assignment will also be due on January 3, 2012.
