DTS Measurement Principle
DTS utilizes the Raman effect to measure temperature. An optical laser pulse sent through the fiber results in some scattered light reflecting back to the transmitting end, where it is analyzed. The intensity of the Raman scattering is a measure of the temperature along the fiber.
The position of the temperature reading is determined by measuring the arrival timing of the returning light pulse similar to a radar echo.

• The GeoDTS is a highly specialized system to conduct Enhanced Geothermal Response Tests (EGRT) automatically.
• The system can be configured to run a fully automated measurement cycle and collect all the required data on a SD Card for easy transfer to a PC.
• After the data has been transferred to the PC the data is analyzed and a report is easily generated by just a few clicks..

Hybrid Cable - Installation
• The cables are deployed with the tubes of the ground-coupled heat exchanger. At least half the length of the cable must be unrolled on site, in order to fix exactly the middle of the cable length to the bottom of the U-tubes.
• Running meter marks are printed on the cable in order to identify the proper cable position (half the length).
• At the bottom of the ground-coupled heat exchanger, the cable should be taped to the tubes with a smooth bend, as shown

Hybrid Cable - Installation
• When lowering the ground-coupled heat exchanger into the borehole, the vertical running arms of the hybrid cable should be fixed every 2 meters to the tubes.
• This can be done by tape or cable straps. Make sure that the cables are fixed on opposite sides of the tube.
• To prevent damaging the optical and electrical
connectors during installation, the cable has protection hoses on each end of the hybrid cable. These hoses can be inserted into the open heat exchanger tubes (smooth bending) during cementation and pulled out of the drill string.
