AP HUMAN GEOGRAPHY SUMMER ASSIGNMENT 2018-2019
AP Human Geography Summer Assignment Welcome to AP Human Geography! This packet is your summer assignment. It will be collected on the first day of the 2018/19 school year. This assignment is designed to help you prepare for your first Advanced Placement course. In this packet/ assignment there are two parts. Part One is a list of vocabulary terms for Unit 1. You will define each of the terms using Flash Cards. These must be hand written. There are seven units in AP Human Geography. For each unit, you will receive a vocabulary list similar to the one in this packet and you will define each of them. The course is very vocabulary heavy and there will be a lot of new terms to learn. Completing your vocabulary is essential to be successful in the course and on the AP Exam. Part two of this assignment is completing and study the attached maps. Students will take an assessment the first week of school on each of the maps included in the Summer Assignment file. Students are required to score at least a 70% on the assessment to meet the minimum standard. Each student MUST
attain at least the minimum passing score of 70%. Students who score below a 70%
will be required to retake the exam until the minimum standard is achieved
Enjoy your summer and I look forward to meeting all of you at the start of
the new school year.
