Introduction Microsoft released the Windows 8 operating system in October 2012. This OS not only

includes a traditional desktop PC interface, but also a new interface—known unofficially as the Metro UI—designed specifically for tablets and other touch-screen devices.

Although the Metro UI for Internet Explorer 10 offers an appealingly uncluttered and stylish look, several common browser features are not available through the Metro UI and can only be accessed by using the desktop version’s traditional PC interface.

Those using the Metro UI version of Internet Explorer to connect to VIVOTEK products may encounter compatibility issues. This document shows how to open the desktop version of Internet Explorer on Windows 8 in order to view video streams from VIVOTEK products.
