Left and right feeders and left and rightaugers are all controlled independently, eliminating the need for feeder gates.

Once the feeder speeds are set, theratio of feeder speed to the maximumauger speed is automaticallymaintained by the material handlingcontroller, regardless of propel rate orpaving widths.

To control mix delivery, the operatorsets a speed rate for each feeder thatwill maintain the desired mix level inthe left and right auger chambers.

Component wear is reduced becausefull feeders run at slower speeds.

Potential for mix segregation isminimized because head of materialremains constant.

Gateless feeders always run full of mixregardless of the speed required to fillthe auger chamber.

Drag pans are constructed withabrasion resistant, heat treated steel.

Feeder flight bars are forged steel andpinned to two strands of roller bushedchain.

When changes in feeder speed areneeded, delivery of mix to the augersis immediate.

Potential for segregation is reducedwith slower running feeders, especiallywhen working with large stone mixes.

Exclusive Feeder/Auger Control SystemPrecise mix delivery through the most advanced material handling system.

Gateless Feeders Slower running feeders reduce wear and segregation.

Page 5: AP-650B Asphalt Paver Specalog QEHQ9427 - Kelly Tractor

5

Adjustable Height Auger Assembly Promotes mat consistency and minimizes segregation.

Feeder Design Improves Mix FlowTunnel construction helps minimize segregation.

Distance between the two feeders issignificantly reduced because the augerdrive assembly is not part of the tractor.

Narrow distance between feedersallows flow from both feeders to blendtogether easily as they discharge intothe auger cavity. This design helpsminimize segregation.

Since the auger case is not attached tothe tractor, voids under the chain caseare eliminated.

Auger assembly can be hydraulicallyadjusted 171 mm (6.75") .

When working with larger stone mixes, segregation can often be eliminated orminimized by raising the augers to allowmix to flow unrestricted under the augerassembly.

Ability to raise the auger assemblysimplifies loading and unloading from atransport vehicle.
