A Message from the Principal Team

Dear Families,

Walk-a-Thon

WOWWWWEE!!! What a day we had last Wednesday. The music was rocking, the legs were pumping and everyone

was out having an awesome time. The Foundation to Grade Two students set the pace for the day with a brilliant

morning of walking, finishing the 10-lap course in quicker than expected time. The 3-6 students pumped out 15 laps

with many students walking even further. A well-deserved bottle of water was handed out on the last lap and an ice

cold Zooper-Dooper awaited students at the finish line. Thank you to PAFA for organising the event and to Dana for

the amazing WPS themed balloon archway. It looked fantastic and students enjoyed walking through it. Thank you to

everyone for their pledges. A whopping $3,700 has been raised which will go towards providing resources for the

students. What a great way to raise money for the school so far keeping fit at the same time. Hopefully the

Walk-a-Thon stays as a permanent fundraising fixture for the school.

Working Bee

What a thoroughly productive morning we had for Saturday’s working bee. Eight willing and committed parents (and a

bunch of kids) completed a range of jobs including fixing the fence pailings near the big fort, fixing the sleepers and

path at the front of the school, repairing brickwork, cleaning drainage pits, fixing the bbq, painting yellow safety paint

on poles and concrete, mulching gardens, filling pot holes in the church carpark, topping up the sandpit and cleaning

out the bike shed. Phew! What a morning. We finished the day with a scrumptious bbq (cooked by Brianna) and good

conversation. Big thankyou to Shane and Kathy Hemphill from Pretty Sally Home Hardware for all the supplies and to

Glen, Kristy, Bret, Danielle, Penny, Sandra, Kath, Liz and Mrs Cole for giving up their time to help make the school a

safer place. The school looks great!

School Vision

On Monday afternoon, the school vision working party continued re-defining the school vision statement. A draft

school vision statement was developed and we began drafting the school’s mission statement ie; the statement which

sitsi underneath the vision statement in order to provide content and meaning. The newly developed vision and

mission statements will be presented to School Council at Monday night’s meeting. The statements will then be

presented to the school community for consultation and feedback.

2016 Parent Information Reminder

Parents are offered the opportunity to provide the school with written information that they wish to be

considered prior to placing students into 2016 groupings.

This information should not relate to teaching staff as staff do not know where they will be placed until much

later in the year. However, it can relate to social skills, family situations, etc. The information must be in writing

and must be received by the office by Friday 18th November . Whilst we attempt to accommodate family requests,

(we are usually able to do so) please understand that there are many factors involved in organizing grades and

we can only do our best-there are no guarantees.

A Night in Monte Carlo On Saturday November 12th 2016, Parent and Friends Association will be hosting their final fundraising

evening for the year……and it’s going to be a BIG one!

A Night in Monte Carlo is an opportunity to raise money for the school by dressing up in your finest outfit

and experiencing the fun and excitement of real casino type games such as Big Wheel, Blackjack and

Roulette using fake casino chips.

A Night in Monte Carlo is an 18+ event and will be held at the Kilmore Memorial Hall.

There are limited tickets available and no door tickets will be sold on the night.

Tickets are $45 per person and are available to purchase from the school office.
